So here's a request I got for Roger, but the way it was going I couldn't leave Syd out so I wrote an alternate ending for it! Hope you enjoy this lovey dovey imagine. Also, I know Terrapin was written later but it's been stuck in my head and I absolutely had to use it for this💓

Imagine Roger having a massive crush on you. And here was the problem. Syd has a huge crush on you too. You were best friends with both of them and were quite unaware of their feelings for you until today. Syd and Roger had been bickering quite a bit for some reason and you couldn't figure out why. You were sitting with Nick, chatting away when they ran out of the room, looking quite angry.

"What's with them? They're never this bad," you said to Nick, as you tried to see if you could hear them in the next room.

Nick rolled his eyes with a smile, "Really, (y/n)? You mean you really are totally oblivious?"

You turned back to him with a confused expression.

"What are you talking about?" You asked, somewhat nervous about his response.

"No, no, I'll let you figure this one out on your own," he said as he got up.

"Nick come on-"

"It's not that hard, you'll figure it out!"

You sat there and pouted as you watched Nick let out a laugh at you before he left the room.

Meanwhile, in the next room, Roger and Syd were busy fighting over you.

"Syd, look. It's only fair if you let me ask her out." Roger stated.

Syd's eyes widened with anger, "You idiot, that's probably the most unfair thing you've said in your entire life!"

"Well!" Roger said, throwing his arms up.

"Okay," Syd started, attempting to calm himself down, "here's what we do. We either forget about it, and neither of us gets her," his face seemed to drop at that thought, "or, we both play the song I wrote and she chooses."

Roger seemed a little nervous at that idea. He scratched the back of his head as he thought for a moment, leaving Syd sitting there in silence.

"I suppose that's the best idea," Roger mumbled, afraid to discover you'd go for Syd and not him.

"Right then. Shall we?" Syd said, picking up his guitar, and going to shake Roger's hand to seal the deal.

Roger nodded, shook his hand and grabbed his bass, taking a deep breath before leaving the comfort of the closed room and entering the rehearsal hall where you sat. They walked towards you and took seats right in front of you, sitting criss crossed on the ground with their instruments in hand.

"What's going on?" You said with a laugh as you watched their serious expressions.

"We have a little something to tell you, but we've decided to sing it to you instead, love," Syd said, as he started to strum his guitar.

Both of them began to sing, harmonizing with each other perfectly as they played this gorgeous song.

I really love you, and I mean you
The star above you, crystal blue
Well oh baby,
my hair's on end about you

You felt your face turn red as you listened to them and realized what Nick had meant and why they were singing this to you.

They ended the song with a nervous glance to each other before they looked back at you.

"Well uhm," Roger coughed, looking down at his lap.

"That was wonderful," you said with a smile, trying to hide how shy you felt now.

Ending with Roger:

"Yeah, uhm, well," Syd and Roger stuttered, which made you giggle and made them blush, "that's for you."
Roger said, finally looking up to meet your gaze.

"Hey Syd, can you come over here for a moment?" Nick called.

Syd looked a little frustrated but stood up to go talk with Nick, leaving you and Roger alone.

"That really was wonderful Roger," you said, feeling yourself get giddy as you thought about those words again.

"Well, Syd wrote it, I just wanted the privilege of singing it to you," he said with a nervous smile.

You stood up to go sit next to him on the ground.

"I know you've got a secret to tell me," you whispered with a cheeky smile.

Roger's face turned red, "oh, you do?"

You nodded, "I think you can tell me, Roger," you said, letting your eyes connect with his, and refusing to look away.

"Can I show you?" He asked softly, leaning in a little closer to you.

You silently nodded your head, your eyes looking towards his lips now, and they were so close to yours.

He closed the gap between the two of you and you sighed in relief, letting your arms drape over his shoulders as his hands rested on your waist. You let your hand slide down to his chest and let out a giggle when you felt how fast his heart was beating. You broke the kiss momentarily to let out a laugh. Roger gave you a big smile.

"You have no idea how long I've been wanting to do that," he breathed as his hand rested on your cheek.

"Believe me, I've been wanting to do it a lot longer," you said before pulling him back for another long kiss.

Alternate ending with Syd💓

You sat there looking at the both of them who were patiently waiting for you to break the silence that followed their song.

"That was beautiful," you said with a soft smile, "did you write that?" You said looking at Syd, feeling yourself blush in his gaze.

He nodded his head, his hugely innocent eyes staying focused on you with a soft smile tugging at his lips.
Roger looked between the two of you and gave Syd a pat on the back with a small smile as he stood up, leaving you two with just each other.

"When did you write that song, Syd?"
He looked down at his lap with a laugh and a smile as he thought.

"I wrote it when I woke up one morning and all I could think about was you," he said, looking back up with those eyes of his, "I hope you don't mind."

You bent down and took his hands in yours, tugging him up so he stood in front of you.

"I don't mind at all," you said softly, looking up at him from where you sat as you intertwined your fingers with his.

His eyes seemed to widen a bit as his heartbeat quickened. He leaned down, his eyes moving from your lips back to your eyes, seemingly asking for permission. You granted his wish by reaching up to grab his tie so his lips could meet yours. You felt him smile into the kiss as he reached his hand up to run through your hair.

You heard the door open up again and a slow clap begin.

"Well it's about time," Nick said before he closed the door again to leave you and Syd to each other.
