The heat was unbearable.

Screaming was heard as the mom and dad burned. A child was crying, screaming for her mom and dad.

The sirens of fire trucks, police, and paramedics could be heard. But they would be too late to save anyone.

They were already too late.

Arriving on the scene, firemen pull out their hoses, while some rush inside. Police block out the scene and the paramedics wait for the family to be pulled out.

The child was the first out, kicking and screaming and crying. Trying to escape the fireman's arms. Paramedics rush over and take the screaming child, trying to calm her. They put a breathing mask on her and lay her on a stretcher. They leave a man behind to watch her.

A man who is about 30 with brown hair. He has gray eyes that seem kind, but are actually cold and hard, demanding in a way.

Yet he calmed the child with ease. Telling the child that everything would be okay.

This child was just another orphaned kid to everyone else, but not to this man.

This child was the start of something beautiful.

"I'll take care of you," the man told the child. "You are the first to join my wonderful experiment."

"And you certainly won't be the last."
