My Son Malachi Kayden James (Part 2)

“HELP HELP” I yelled

The nurse ran over and took him out of my arms

“ He fine he’s struggle against the breathing tube because he’s trying to  breathe on its own” she said to me as she took the breathing tube out of this mouth and  then I heard him cry I’ve been waiting to hear that since he was born.

“Really he’s ok?” I ask

“Yes he’s fine I’ve checked him over , we still need to monitor his breathing since his lungs are still undeveloped but we are giving him steroids to help his lungs grow faster, you can hold him now” she said as she passed him back to me.

He stopped crying as soon as he was put in my arms, my mum and Jade came back in

“MUM he’s breathing on his own now I was talking to him and then he started fighting against the breathing tube I freaked out because I didn’t know what was happening but the nurse took him off me and then she told me that he was trying to breathe on his own, MUM he’s going to be ok” I was so happy that my son was going to be ok.

“Huny I’m so glad he’s ok, I’ve written some of  the details of the births in these baby books I bought” you will have to fill out the rest” my mum said  she handed 2 pink and 1 blue baby books over to me after I readjusted Malachi so I can hold him and look at the books.

“Thanks mum did Jade tell you that I named him Malachi?” I asked mum

“Yes she did I think you have done really well naming your babies they all have wonderful names”

“Thanks mum” I said as I looked at the first page of Malachi’s baby book

Date Of Birth: 18/10/10

Time:   4:39pm

Weight:  4 pound 8 ounces

Siblings: Emily Rose James and Addison Isla Rose James

Then I opened one of the pink books I looked at the details and it read

Name: Emily Rose James

Date Of Birth: 18/10/10

Time: 3:28pm

Weight: 3 pound 6 ounces

Sibling: Addison Isla Rose James and Malachi Kayden James

Then I looked at Addison’s book and read

Name: Addison Isla Rose James

Date Of Birth: 18/10/10

Time: 4:03pm

Weight: 6 pound 8 ounces

Siblings: Emily Rose James and Kayden James

“Thanks so much mum” I said to her as she was watching Malachi sleeping

“No problem sweetheart, Oh I thought I should tell you that Spike and your Father are doing up your room for the babies, we still have to get another crib and carseat and the main stuff for Malachi though but we have plenty of time to do that since he will be in hospital for a few weeks, Jade an I will go and buy some boy clothes for Malachi we will be back in a hour or two ok”

“OK thanks mum, do you know when spike will be back?” I asked mum

“In half an hour I think” she said as she kissed me on the forehead and then said goodbye to Malachi and then Jade did same then they both left me, it was just me and my son.

“Lexi” the nurse asked

“What’s wrong?” I asked

“Emily is crying and we can’t settle her I can’t bring her in here because of the other babies, could you please come back to your room?” she asked

“Sure am I aloud to take my son with me for a little bit?” I asked as I looked down at him not wanting to leave him.

“I’m sorry he can’t leave the N.I.C.U yet but you can come back to say goodnight before you go to bed”

I looked up at the nurse and then back down at my son I really didn’t want to leave him but I know that my daughters need me too; I gave Malachi a kiss and said to him

“I love you my son I will be back soon I have to go see your sisters” then I put him back into his incubator.

5 minutes later I walked into my room hearing both my girls crying their lungs out and the nurse trying to calm Emily down

“Hi lexi Emily been crying and then it woke Addison so now she is crying” the nurse said as I walked up to her and put my hands out for Emily

“Emily will settle for me Addy should settle for you if you don’t mind helping”

“Of course I will help it’s why I’m here” she said as she passed Emily over to me then picked up Addy

“Thanks” I said. I sat back on the bed rocking Emily and cuddling her close to my chest

“Shhh Baby its ok mummy’s here now, Bubba guess who I have been to see? I went to see your brother he’s doing really well now you will be back with him soon huny” Then she stopped crying

“That’s it baby Girl” I said then I heard a knock at the door

“Come in” I said 

“Hey How are you” Spike said to me

“SPIKE I’m good hang on a sec” I said then I turned to the nurse

“You can go now if you like Spike here can take Addy” I said to her

“Ok if you need me ring the bell” she said as she passed Addy to spike and then walked out

“She’s beautiful Lexi” spike told me

“I know all my babies’ are, did mum tell you the name of my son?” I asked

“No she didn’t”

“It is Malachi Kayden James”

“Really?” he asked

“Yes why?”

 “Malachi is my Second middle name” he replied

“REALLY? I had no idea” I said in shock

“Yes really, it suits your son better than me though” he laughed I did too

“Wow, Malachi is breathing on his own now”

“That’s great”

“I’m really happy that he will be ok I can’t weighted to go home with all three of them” I yawned

“I bet, I should you sleep, here let me put Emily into the Baby Crib thingy they got over there” he walked over and put Addy over into the crib and then came and got Emily

“Thank you, I’m so tired ” I yawned again and then got into the bed pulled the covers over me and fell asleep within minutes of my head hitting the pillow.
