Alice's POV
"I'm sorry Alice, but I need to live there."
Tinitigan ko lang siya dahil sa hindi pa masyadong naregister sa utak ko ang mga sinasabi niya. Para atang Alien language ang binibigkas niya. Hindi ko talaga ma gets.
"Are you pranking on me again? If this is a prank then-"
Hindi na niya pa ako pinatapos at agad sumagot.
"It's not.", tipid niyang sagot sa akin habang nakayuko ang ulo niya.
Troye naman... pls explain all of this to me!
Galing sa ibang universe yang mga sinasabi mo eh!
Tulala lang akong nakatingin sa kanya na hanggang ngayon ay nakayuko pa din ang ulo.
Seryoso ba talaga siya?
"A-are you even serious about... a-all of this?", nauutal kong sabi.
Nangiginig ang aking mga kamay at nagsimula nang uminit ang aking mga mata.
Nakita ko naman itong kinuha ang aking nanginginig na mga kamay sa ibabaw ng lamesa and clasped them with his own hands.
"I am, Alice... and I am sorry."
I thought you would never leave my side...
All this time, pinaasa mo lang ako sa pangakong hindi mo naman pala matutupad?!
You made me an idiot Troye!
I unclasped my hands from his at sinamaan siya ng tingin. Napatawa naman ako ng nakakaloka. Para atang nakahithit ako ngayon.
"Hahaha... so all this time... your promise... our friendship... neither of them is true...", sabi ko sa kabila ng mga paghikbi dahil sa nagsimula na akong umiyak.
"It's not what you think. Our friendship had never been a lie. I made you my best friend because you are the only one who found the real me. And the promise I made to you at the park... it was true. Lahat ng sinabi ko ay hindi mga kasinungalingan, Alice. It's just that, I really need to do this because of my parents. And if you're my best friend, you should understand my situation..."
Napatawa na naman ako sa mga pinagsasasabi niya.
Nakahithit nga siguro ako kanina.
"Understand? You think I should understand you? How could I even understand if you didn't told me a single reason why you have to live there?!", medyo napasigaw na din ako sa kanya.
Tinignan ko siya ng maigi but umiwas lang siya ng tingin.
"I-I can't..."
ARGH! I can't understand you Troye!
How did you even become my best friend if I can't understand a single thing you mutter!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!
"Just spill it out already Troye! Why did you even made me your best friend if you can't even share a secret with me?.... W-why?"
Umaagos ang maiinit kong mga luha sa aking pisngi habang ang tingin ko ay nasa sa kanya padin.
"As much as I want to tell you the whole reason, but I can't."
I then saw him stood up from his seat which is in front of me and said his last words,
"I don't expect you to treat me as a best friend after this. I know you hate me now. It's over between us, Alice."
At yun ang mga huli niyang mga salitang binitawan at umalis na sa aking harapan, iniwan akong labis na luhaan.
How could you do this to me, Troye?...

Troye's POV
"Mom...", sabi ko habang pinupunas ang mga luha ko.
"Troye?", nag-aalala nitong pagtawag sa akin.
"I'll do it."
"Have you finally decided?", nagtataka itong tinanong ako.
Rinig na rinig ko ang masayang pagsagot sa akin ni mom.
"Y-yes. I'll do it for us and... for myself."
I courageously said to mom and hanged up the phone. Isa-isa na namang pumapatak ang aking mga luha dahil sa nangyari kanina.
I think this is the best for me and Alice. Our friendship should better be over kaysa patagalin pa ito and can just hurt both of us in the end kapag pinatagal pa.
My decision was for the best of my family.
And for myself...
And Alice,
Is not included in the choice I've made.
Hinding-hindi siya madadamay sa gulong ito.
I'm still going to protect her even if our friendship is over.
That's how much I love my best friend.
