"I have something to show you," Alex told her.

She allowed him to drag her into his little art room, savouring the feel of his large warm hand wrapped around her own.

He had cleared the art studio of all of its clutter. There were only a few canvases left pressed up against the wall and all the paint equipment now sat in a single corner of the room. In the centre, standing prominently, were two easels with two canvases of the same size.

"You cleaned up! I'm so proud of you, Alex," Amber said teasingly.

Alex rolled his eyes. "I thought that we could paint together. Since I saw you paint in the forest, I've been dying to see you paint like that again. It's not the same in class when there are so many other students around."

Amber reached onto her tip toes and gave him a quick kiss once more. "I'd love that."

Alex released her from his arms to gather some paint supplies. He opened a brand new palette from its plastic wrapper for her and filled it with an assortment of coloured paints. Amber grabbed a paint-covered overall that hanging off of his desk chair. Alex's expression softened when she put it on. Amber misread his expression as discomfort and glanced from him to her apron.

"Sorry," she said sheepishly, "I should have asked."

Alex walked over to her and pecked her lips, holding the palette away from her as he did so to make sure none of the paint got on her. "Don't be silly, it's not that. That apron was my mother's. I never thought I'd have anyone to wear it. It looks great on you."

Amber felt a blush rise to her cheeks. Since she had been seeing him more often, Amber had gotten used to Alex's subtle flirting. It was only occasionally that he would catch her off guard and cause her to turn scarlet, which seemed to be a particularly fun pass time for Alex.

He stroked her flaming cheek with the back of his hand.

"And there it is," he muttered gently, gazing down at her with such intensity that Amber wondered if he could read her thoughts.

Amber reached up as though to kiss him but instead grabbed the palette from his hand and twirled out of his arms with a smug smirk.

Alex gaped at her in mock-astonishment. "Amber Riley's such a tease. Who would have thought it?"

Amber placed a hand on her hip. "I am not a tease! You deserved that, anyway."

Alex walked to her and placed his arms around her waist. "Really? And why is that?"

"Because..." Amber trailed of, becoming flustered by how close his lips were to hers. His eyes constantly flickered from her own lips up to her eyes before lingering on her lips again. "Because you made me blush."

"You are cute when you blush..." Alex commented, making Amber blush again.

He chuckled and kissed each of her cheeks sensually before roaming her neck. Amber gasped in surprise, clutching the palette which was dangerously close to tumbling out of her hands. Her nerve endings felt as though they were fit to burst as electricity seemed to jolt through her body with every kiss laid on her bare collarbone. Amber grabbed Alex's chin with her free hand in desperation and yanked it upwards so that her lips could find his. She lost herself in the depths of his peppermint breath.

When they both eventually came up for breath, Amber smiled up at him shyly. "Whatever happened to painting?"

Alex pecked her lips and licked his lips as though he was trying to remind himself of how she tasted.
