Shane stretched out and yawned, reaching his hand over and purposely hitting me in the face to piss me off. I sighed, causing him to laugh tiredly. He knew how to get to me, that's for sure. I reached over and hit my phone on my nightstand as my alarm went off.

"Ugh, this is the very last thing I want to be doing right now," he grunted, his arm over his eyes.

I grunted in agreement, not wanting to open my eyes and come to the horrible realization that I was going to have to get up and get in the shower, and in about an hour and a half, have to be in school. Especially after last night.

It was an experience. Sex kind of hurt, I wasn't going to lie to you. I didn't understand why people liked it so much at first. It was painful for a while there, but eventually, it got better. Much better. And then, it started to make sense. Plus, I didn't think I would like it, but I didn't mind falling asleep with someone holding me. I typically don't like sleeping with someone else. I like to stretch out and do my own thing, but I didn't mind having Shane's arm around me while I drifted off.

"Well, do you want to do what we did last night?" he asked, finally opening his eyes and forcing me to open mine.

I giggled and blushed a little. "I don't think we have time for that," I admitted.

He laughed and kissed me on the lips, gently. "I meant the showering situation, Ri," which made me blush even more out of embarrassment.

I agreed on the arrangement of showering and before long, we were both showered and ready to leave.

We walked out the front door to a humid and overcast day. It felt like it was going to rain, but so far we were covered. Shane grabbed my hand and we started on our way to school.

"So, about last night," he started trailing off, causing both of us to laugh.

"Yeah, that was something, wasn't it?" I asked, smiling. I genuinely felt connected to Shane on a different level now. I know, how fucking corny do I sound right now? But I'm serious. I don't let many people in. I like boundaries, my personal space and I'd like to think that no one knows me better than me. So, to open up to someone like THAT? That was something serious to me.

He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me in next to him. "It was one of the best nights of my life," he said warmly. I felt like I hadn't stopped smiling since this morning when I woke up next to him.

We were about two blocks away when we felt the first couple of rain drops hit our heads.

"Oh great," I mumbled, sticking my hand out to make sure I wasn't hallucinating, and that the showers were really starting.

Shane chuckled a little, and whipped off his hoodie, wrapping it around me.

"You know as much as I find this adorable and really appreciate it, but aren't you going to get wet?" I asked, as the the rain picked up slightly. "I mean, what purpose does this solve?"

He shook his head at me, his damp hair from his shower not getting a chance to fully dry. "Just accept the sentiment and move on," he said sarcastically. See? We're perfect for each other.

By the time we made it to school, I was damp because the hoodie held water anyway, and Shane was practically drenched.

I took one look at him and laughed. "Dude, do you have a change of clothes or something?" I asked.

He looked himself up and down and shook a little, like a dog. "Yeah, I brought a change to keep in my locker since that incident in the lunch room. Figured it would be good in case of emergencies or someone else going berserk and throwing food around."
