Jauregui Effect

First Date

I pulled up in front of Lauren's house at 6:57 and grabbed the single red rose I bought on my way here out of the passenger seat, then made my way up to her front door. I was so nervous for this date to go well, I debated for an hour over what to wear and then washed my car inside and out just to make sure everything was clean and smelled good. At 7:00, I reached up with a shaky hand and knocked on the door. God I was so nervous... Mr. Jauregui was the one to open the door. "You must be (Y/N)!!! It's so nice to see the girl who makes my daughter happy! She's talked so much about you. Please, Call me Mike or Papa J...anything besides Mr. Jauregui. That makes me feel old." Much to my surprise, he smiled at me and pulled me into a hug. I was expecting to be met with a gun, or a bunch of huge Latino guys, or a mean looking dog, or really any kind of scare tactic...not a friendly hug, but I went with it anyway. When he pulled out of the hug, Mrs. Jauregui was walking up behind him. "You must be Mrs. Jauregui, it's nice to meet you! I'm (Y/N)." She smiled and pulled me into a hug. "Please dear, call me Clara...I go by Mrs. Jauregui all the time at school, I don't need it here to."

"Mija!!!!! (Y/N)'s here!" Mike shouted from where we were. He turned back around and looked past me. "That your car out there?" I turned around to see him looking at my Mustang. "Yes sir! She's pretty special." He cocked an eyebrow up at me. "She?" I chuckled a little to myself. "Yes sir, her name's Sally...you know like Mustang Sally? Kinda stupid, but yeah...it fit at the time."  He just smiled real big. "You mind if I go have a look at her while you wait for Lauren?" He must like cars. "No sir, go ahead. All the doors are unlocked so feel free to look inside." I followed Clara into the living room as Mike went to look at my car. When we got in there, I sat on one of the couches and waited there awkwardly.

I didn't have to wait long for Lauren to come around the corner. And when she did, my heart stopped. She was so gorgeous. I don't think I'll ever get over seeing her for the first time everyday. I stood up so I could see her better. She was in a pair of cut offs that showed off her amazing legs and a simple Bob Marley t-shirt with a grey beanie to top it off. When she walked over to me, I pinched myself to make sure that I was awake because I couldn't believe that this was the girl that wanted to go on a date with me.

I walked up to her and pulled her into a hug. "You look absolutely gorgeous. Here, I got this for you." A slight blush rose to her cheeks as  she took the rose out of my hand. "Thank you (Y/N). It's beautiful."  Mike interrupted what I was about to say as he came back in. "(Y/N), if you treat my daughter as good as you treat Sally, then you'll be okay." He had a big smile on his face as I just chuckled. "Sally?" Lauren asked from behind me. I turned around to see her raising an eyebrow. "My car...long story short, her name's Sally." She still looked slightly confused but chose not to question it. "I guess we'll be on our way if you're ready Lauren?" She nodded her head and then we went out to my car. I opened the door for her and then went over to the driver side. "So, where are we going?" I was a little nervous because I wasn't sure if she would like it or not. "I um...there's this spot on a secluded part of the beach that I know of so I figured we could go there? If you don't want to we can-" "(Y/N) the beach is fine." I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and smiled at her. "That's good...because I didn't have anything else planned." I laughed lightly and reached over to put my Pvris cd in and pulled out of the driveway.

About 30 minutes later I pulled into a parking spot. "We're here." I smiled at her and the got out of the car going around to the other side to open the door for her. After she got out, I reached out and grabbed her hand. She smiled up at me letting me know it was ok and then we started walking down towards the beach.

When we reached the sand, I reached down and took my flip flops off and she did the same. She looked so peaceful just standing beside me and looking out at the water, I could stand here all night and just watch her. There wasn't anybody on this part of the beach and the sun was about to set over the water so I pulled her over to where I had set out a blanket and had Ashlynn, after a lot of begging, pick up a pizza and drop it off right before we got here. "I hope pizza's okay with you? I thought we could watch the sunset over the water while we ate and talked." She smiled really big and sat down on the blanket I had laid out. She started patting the spot right next to her motioning for me to sit beside her. After sitting down next to her, I reached over and hit play on my iPod that was hooked up to the radio. The 1975's latest album softly played through the speakers as I reached over and grabbed the pizza box. We both ate a few pieces before setting it off to the side. She was softly singing along to the music when she wrapped her arm around mine, grasping my hand, and laying her head over on my shoulder. We sat like that for a good 45 minutes....not talking, just enjoying each other's presence. I looked down at her to see she had her eyes closed so I pulled my phone out and leaned down kissing the top of her head and snapped the picture. When I looked at it, she had a small smile on her face and she had opened her eyes. "Send me that picture later on please." I just nodded as she laid her head back on my shoulder.

At 9, we packed up and got back in my car. Lauren had her head laid over on the window so I decided not to talk because she looked peaceful, I just reached over and held her hand, she didn't seem to mind. The road from the little parking lot back onto the main road was a little bumpy so I tried to avoid hitting all the bumps. After getting back on the main road, I turned the Pvris album back on and made my way back to her house.

When I pulled into her driveway, I squeezed her hand a little to get her attention. "We're back at your house. And I just wanted to say that I know this wasn't your typical first date. We didn't really talk and try to get to know each other like people normally do. But I had an incredible time just sitting with you and I wanted it to be a peaceful date. Our lives are so busy and hectic that I thought it'd be nice to just take some time alone together and relax." God she looked so gorgeous just sitting there. "I'm glad that you planned this date the way you did. I learned so much about the kind of person you are just from your actions. It was a unique first date and I really appreciate that. It was perfect and I think talking would of took away from that." We continued to look into each other's eyes. I didn't know what to say after that so I just kept quiet. She slowly started leaning in and I felt my heart rate speed up. I leaned in slowly and closed my eyes. Soon,our lips met and I stopped breathing. It was pure heaven, I've never felt this feeling in my life but whatever it was...I didn't want to stop feeling it. To soon for my liking, she pulled back. I was frozen, I didn't want to let this feeling go so I held onto it as long as I could. "Wow" that's all I could say. I was rolling on cloud 9 right now. When I opened my eyes, Lauren still had hers closed and a small smile on her face. She finally opened her eyes and when she looked at me, her smile only got bigger. "That was amazing!"

I got out of my car and went around and opened the door for her. Once she got out, I grabbed her hand and walked her up to the front door. "I had an amazing night with you tonight. And I would love for you to, maybe...go out with me again?" She leaned down and placed a short kiss on my lips. "I would love to go out with you again. And goodnight, have a safe drive home. You better text me when you get home so I know you got there safely." I just smiled at her  and nodded my head, she cares about me. She turned around and opened the front door going in, sending one last look my way before closing the door.

Wow, have I got it bad...
