Chapter 21: After Sami.

~Mason's POV~
After everyone said what they wanted, Sami's heart started to slow. She's made her choice.
"Goodbye mom. I love you." I said trying not to cry.
I hope she's in a better place. I felt arms wrap about me. It was Abi.
"It'll be ok. She's in a better place."
"How do you know that? And why do you care? She abandoned you."
"I care because she's my mother to. She cared about you more because she loved your father."
I looked Abi in the eyes. I saw pain and hurt.
"Yea," I look back at my mom, "she did love my father."
Everyone else left. I stayed behind to sign some papers.
*The next day*
The funeral was scheduled for Saturday. So everyone has 5 days to themselves.
*5 days later*
It was weird seeing everyone at the funeral. Abi, Ann, A.J, Tim, Jin, Nick, Ross, Max, Cory, Barney, Red. Family. And I guess everyone else. When the person gave a speech about Sami, everyone cried. I guess my mom touched a lot of peoples hearts. I guess that's why she'll be missed a lot.
*1 year later*
Its been 1 year since my moms funeral. I grieved for 6 months. I still miss her tho. One night I decides to go out with Max and Ross. I met a girl. She's now my girlfriend. We've been dating for 6 months. Tomorrows my birthday. I'll be 20. My girlfriend says she has something special planned. I guess I couldn't wait.
*5 years later*
Its been 6 years... Me and my girlfriend are now married with 3 kids. Asuna is 3, Kirito is 2, and Yui 1. I wanted them to be named after my moms favorite anime characters. (Sword Art Online BTW) Tomorrow's my birthday again, all be 25. I'm slowly moving on. My girlfriend knows its taking me a while to move on. I'm sitting on the couch watching Sword Art Online for probably the 100th time but I stopped counting after 30.
"You ok?" My wife asks.
"Yea. I'm fine."
"You sure. You looked like you were deep in thought."
"I was but trust me I'm fine."
My wife leaned in and kissed my cheek.
"It'll be ok. I promise. Watch the kids while I cook dinner. Ok?"
"Ok. Got it."
I get up and walk over to where our kids were. Kirito crawled over to me.
"If only your grandma was alive. She'd love you all so much."
Tears started to come to my eyes.
"Daddy. What's wrong?" Asuna asks.
"Nothing's wrong Asuna. Just missing someone." I smile weakly.
"It'll be ok daddy." Asuna said smiling.
I've really made it, haven't I? I have a family and kids. I have a job, and a roof over my head. I never moved out of the house that me and my mom got. I always wonder if she's looking over us.
~Sami's POV~
I stood there. Outside. Looking in through the glass sliding door. They all looked happy. Mason has a wife and kids. Asuna, Kirito, and Yui.. Three beautiful kids. If only I could meet them. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned and looked. It was Adam. When I turned back, Kirito was at the door. Looking directly at me. I walk over the the door. He follows me. I get down on my knees. So I'm eye level with him. He looks me in the eyes. I put my hand to the door. Kirito puts his hand up against mine. I smile.
He still stares at me emotionless.
"Sami. We gotta go."
I look at Adam and nod. I turn back and look at Kirito again.
"In a minute Adam."
I stand up. I walk through the glass. Kirito is watching me. I bend down and whisper into Masons ear.
"I love you son and I'll ALWAYS be watching over you."
I heard Masons breath slow.
"I know." Mason whispered.
I stood up. Walked back outside. Adam held out his hand.
"Come on. Let's go."
I grab his hand and we disappear.
~Mason's POV~
After I heard my moms voice, Kirito came up to me.
"Grandma." Kirito said pointing to the glass door.
Was he able to see her? Or is he just imaging stuff. No that's not possible. He doesn't know what she looks like. Tears started to form In my eyes again.
"Daddy?" Kirito said.
I didn't say anything. I just hugged him. Along with Asuna and Yui.
"Dinners ready." My wife said sounding a little sad. I carried them all to the table.
*70 years later*
I was laying my hospital bed dying if cancer. My kids were there. My wife died 10 years ago because someone shot her. I laid there. No one talked. I felt something on my hand but when I looked I saw a almost invisible hand. I looked up.
"Mom. Dad." I say quietly to myself.
"I said I would always watch over you." Sami smiled. "I love you son."
"I love you too mom. Same with you dad."
~Kirito's POV~
I heard my dad talking. Looked up. My grandma and grandpa were standing next to him. Grandma was holding his hand.
"I said I'd always watch over you."
I remember now. I was only 3. I remember seeing them. I guess I always saw them. I Judy never wanted to say anything.
~Asuna's POV~
I heard my dad talking to himself. No one was there, and no one else in the room was talking.
"Mom. Dad."
He was seeing his parents. I get it. He's dying. He's seeing things. I want to tell him no ones there but I don't want to break his heart.
~Yui's POV~
Daddy was talking to someone. I didn't know who though until I looked up. I saw grandma. She was holding his hand.
"I love you son."
After all these years of seeing them watching us. This is the first time I heard them speak. I know daddy is gonna die. But I hope he knows how many lived he has changed. Because if him he gave me, Asuna, and Kirito life. I'll miss Daddy but I'll keep living for him. I stand up and walk over to daddy.
~Asuna's POV~
I saw Yui get up. She walked over to dad. So I got up and walked over to him too. I stood right next to Yui.
~Kirito's POV~
I saw both of my sisters walk over to dad. First Yui, then Asuna. I got up and walked over to them. I stood in between them. We put our arms around each other.
~Yui's POV~
I looked at Daddy, his heart was slowing down.
"Goodbye Daddy! I LOVE YOU!" I shouted with years in my eyes.
~Asuna's POV~
After Yui screamed 'Goodbye Daddy! I LOVE YOU!'
I said, "Goodbye dad. I'll love you forever."
~Kirito's POV~
"Goodbye dad. I'll miss you. Thanks for being there for us and making sure we were alright. You will be missed. You touched everyone's hearts. Your our hero. I love you dad. Goodbye."
Dads heart stopped.
"Goodbye." I whispered again. "I love you." Tears slowly fell down my face. I look up and I see Grandma and Grandpa. Looking at me. Smiling.
"We'll continue looking after you three, and when you guys get a wife and kids or well a husband, we'll watch over them to. We'll be here forever. Bye."
They soon disappeared.
*A few days later*
I was sitting on a hill watching the sun set, when I saw grandma and grandpa walking. They looked so peaceful. Is being dead better then being alive?
No. I can't think that. I want to keep living for my dad.
I stood up quickly.
"FOR MY FATHER!"
I shouted as loud as I could. I'll continue everything he wanted to do. I'll finish what he had planned. This is my life. My time. I'm not gonna left anything get in the way. I'll be better then I was when my dad was alive. I'll become someone he'd be proud of. Just for him.
