***

We got back to the hotel, no one saying a word more than necessary and none of the men looking me in the eye. Something is extremely fishy here. I should be the one ignoring them and acting all moody!

ME!

I was the kidnapped girl here!

Did you fight off two men in a hotel room? Did you untie yourself and escape from a trunk?? Did you climb trees barefoot and in a dress to top it off??? I didn't think so!

I looked around once more, urging any of the ones present to look me in the eye, but none did, fixating the marble floor of the lobby with their gazes, suddenly finding it extremely fascinating.

If I could, I would storm right to where Dante was, so that I could force an explanation out of his pretty little mouth.

Just as I thought that, I spotted Dante through the crowd, my legs determinedly starting towards him, only to be pulled back by Abel, which was my support for the time being. I glared at him, pulling him after me, towards Dante.

After a couple of steps, Celeste also came into view, right in front of Dante, that, with a closer look, looked extremely exhausted emotionally and physically, his shoulders slouched in a sorrowful position.

Celeste on the other hand looked extremely furious and disappointed, her face in a scowl.

Dante tried to reason with her in a quiet voice, but she wasn't having it as she was less than subtle.

"She called your name! She shouted her lungs out for you and you weren't there for her! You shouldn't have left her from your sight! You promised to protect her and you didn't. You let her get kidnapped and what's worse, injured! I taught you that a promise made must be kept, no matter the circumstances" she said, scolding the full grown man in front of her.

Dante murmured something which I couldn't hear properly, but his words seem to have offended Celeste as she took a step back in shock, swiftly rising a palm, slapping the blue eyed man on the cheek, forcing his head to turn to the side.

Everyone in the lobby froze, not believing their eyes.

I am positive that Dante saw the blow, but decided against dodging it as he seemed to think he deserved it.

"That is not the kind of man I've raised!I didn't bring you up to be such a man; to drown in self-pity and run away from your problems! You disappoint me Dante Damiano." Celeste said into the silenced room, holding the hand she just struck him with in her other hand.

"What does she mean by 'raised'?" I asked Abel quietly, not peeling my eyes from the scene.

After a moment of hesitation,he answered in an equally shushed voice " Signora Calabria took care of boss and his brother when they were little. She volunteered to. Their father, the late Damiano boss, wasn't around much to take care of them and their mother had a frail body which was often sick and she couldn't raise her children herself."

I nodded, seeing as Celeste only now noticed me in the room, her face noticeably changing at the sight of me. She then rushed over to me, lightly touching my shoulder, looking me all over, her features falling at the damage I've suffered.

"C'mon, you'll sleep with me tonight" Celeste cooed over to me, glaring at the unapproaching Dante.

"Thank you for your kindness Celeste, but I want to have a word with Dante first"I said, looking straight into his eyes, but his gaze wasn't looking back. It was averted down, his head falling in shame, his hands behind his back.

"You should stay with Celeste tonight. You'll be safer with her. We'll talk later" Dante said, his lie evident on his face.

I hate it when he lies to me and he fucking knows that for fuck's sake! Just as I was about to make him explain himself, Celeste pulled me over to the elevator, making me miss my chance to clear this out once and for all.

"Celeste, get me back to Dante. He is one brain-dead idiot when it comes to me and if I don't drill reality into his head from time to time, he will overthink everything and get all emo about this." I say, giving her my best 'don't bullshit me' face.

"No can do. I'm getting you to a fluffy bed and I'll order you some hot soup to warm you up. You'll talk to that man after you're well enough to walk on your own two feet" She said, pointing to Abel, who was holding me up, to strengthen her point.

I puffed exasperatedly, knowing I won't get past her.

"Plus, I didn't have a sleepover in so long" Celeste added on a more joyous note, opening the door to her room, welcoming us in.

I fought a smile from creeping up my face, but failed, her cheerfulness getting to me.

"What do you mean they left already?" I asked incredulously, my fists clenching and unclenching in an effort to soothe my anger filled mind.

"Not all of them. Just Leo, Dante and some of the men. He left the rest of us as your guards."Abel said, trying to calm me down.

"And they didn't think they should talk to me first?"I ask through my teeth, feeling like breaking something.

"When they left, you were still asleep and they didn't want to wake y-"

"That's bullshit and you fucking know it! Why did everyone start to lie to me all of a sudden? Do you all really think that I can't handle the truth? I am a big girl, Abel!" I ended, bursting into almost a shout, extremely frustrated by the events that occurred the past night and this morning.

The kidnapping didn't bother me as much as the 'Damiano family' 's behaviour did.

What are they hiding now?

I am almost sure that Dante is overthinking something again like some middle school girl somewhere, writing in his diary or something.

An he's supposed to be a Mafia Family head.

Yeah sure.

He's one big sissy.

I focused back on Abel, determined to get to the bottom of this.

I then stood up, feeling sore all over, but still managing to stand on my own.

Abel tried to come to my side to support me, but I rised a hand in front of him, making him stop and look tortured at me, feeling a strong desire to hold me together as I think I looked like I was about to fall apart by the minute.

"Get me back home. Now" I said, set on meeting Dante as soon as possible.

"But you should rest princi-"

"Don't you dare call me principessa now." I cut him off, startling the man . "Liars don't get to call me cute pet names. now either get me home or I'll hitchhike all the way there and I'll still get to that sorry excuse of a man"

Abel looked at me for a couple of seconds, then sighed, turning towards the door.

"I'll get the car ready"
