Crona couldn't believe her luck. They had let her go! She was filled with joy as she ran across the streets of Death City, home to her mother. Selfishly, she wondered if she would be rewarded. Probably not, but her mother had to at least pay her a little attention.
Joy turned to dread as she arrived at the smouldering house. What had she done? She had left her poor mother alone in the ruined house, unconscious. She would be furious. But maybe she'd show some mercy, when Crona told her where Rosalyn was. No. It was just wishful thinking. Medusa would finish her sister off, and maybe Crona, too.
"Crona, dear?" came a snarling hiss from behind her.
