If you hear a voice within you say "you cannot paint" then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.

"Lady Lillyanna are you paying attention?" A voice called out and pulled Lillyanna out of her stupor. Lately, she had been daydreaming while in the middle of work. If she weren't an immortal, she would have blamed it on old age, but she didn't completely dispel the idea. She couldn't seem to concentrate or even find the will to want to work. She wanted to go to her room and curl under the sheets and stay there, but she couldn't.

"Ahh, yes. I apologize. My mind has a tendency to wander as of late," she said to the head of vampires, Claudia Machiavelli. Lillyanna turned her gaze to Claudia and looked at her ever perfect raven hair and slender build. She was pale, a result of not having a beating heart and seemed perfect. That was until she opened her mouth.

"Well Lillyanna, daydreaming about that mate that you'll never have? It's been what... three or so centuries? Why don't you just give up little elf?" She said while her fake Italian accent grated against Lillyanna's ears. Her family was from Italy and while she had been born there, she lived there no longer than two years, growing up in glorious California.

Lillyanna's own accent was a genuine mixture of Russian and British, two of the main places she had lived in her early centuries. "First of all, Claudia, I am far from little. Secondly, you need to watch that tongue of yours child, else I'll have to cut it off. Trust me when I say that it would give me great pleasure to know that I wouldn't have to hear you yapping in my ear. Do not test me, Claudia."

Claudia visibly swallowed and simply flipped her silky straight, boring hair and went back to give advice or punishing those of her kind. Lillyanna let a small sigh of irritation slip. In order to get on the Council or P.O.A- Paranormal Order of America- you needed to be at least two centuries old.

Claudia was 307, something that she liked to brag about to all the other younger paranormals. Until she happened to brag to the nearest person who happened to be Lillyanna. Compared to Lillyanna she really was just an infant still sucking on her mother's breast. And in many ways she still was. She would have never gotten this job if it weren't for her families high standing and years of service to the P.O.A. Many had no idea of how old Lillyanna was because she wasn't one to brag about her age, especially as old as she was. 1,274 years of living was bound to give you a little maturity over time, no matter the gender.

Lillyanna turned her attention to the next elf in line. "Yes, my dear elf? What can I do for you?" She asked a young boy of twelve years.

"Umm, well you see Lady Lillyanna, my father hasn't returned from hunting in the forest. He said that he would return in two days time but it has already been a week. I've been doing my best to take care of my mother and sister but I need my father. What do I do?" The boy pleaded and stepped forward.

Lillyanna's guards, Jason and Nico, stepped forward and she waved them back to their positions. Tears were running down his face, his long elven ears quivering. His sorrowful face brought back flashes of memories filled with sadness. Lillyanna smiled gently and opened her arms and he ran to them. "Sweet child, I know you have tried your best. I will send one of my best men to search for your father. If I were allowed to, I would have even my personal guards go and look for your father. Do not fret." She leaned in close and whispered. "I have the best men in the lands but don't tell anyone that I said that. I promise that you and your family are in good hands. Your father will be found. In the meantime I want you to continue doing your best to be the man of the house and protect your mother and sister will all of the willpower that you possess."
