Chapter 17: Friend or Foe

(POV Lucy)

I grabbed Sabrina from the hand.
"Wait what?"
"Sorry I had to do this", I said.
"Ok what is it?", Sabrina asked.
"What were you and Manuel talking about",'I asked.
Sabrina whispers into my ear.
"OMG, I can't wait to tell the others", I said.
"Wait!", Sabrina screamed.
"What is it?", I said.
"Don't tell anyone, I'm trusting you Lucy", Sabrina said.
"Ok, I will keep my lips sealed", I said.
"Now I have to go", Sabrina said.
"Why?", I asked.
"I have to go talk to Manuel", she replied.
"Oh, ok. Bye", I said.
She said "bye" and then she ran off to Manuel.

Now the one person on my mind was Connor. Ever since we found these other kids at the castle, he hasn't spoken to anyone, not even me.
I knew something was up, but I was to afraid to confront him.

Hours have passed.
I have been practicing how to talk to Connor.
I thought this was a bad idea, but in my mind I knew it was a good idea.
It wasn't hard finding Connor, he sat there on the log.

"Let's take a break", Timmy said.
"Hey, didn't you notice your sister was gone", Manuel said.
His face turned white.
"What?, When?", he said.
"Maybe more than 5 hrs. ago", Manuel said.
"We have to go find her. I can't lose her again", Timmy said.
"Hold your horses, your not going anywhere", Peter said.
"Let him go, it's his sister", Stacy said.
"I prefer to see Timmy alive", Peter said.
"What about his sister, huh?", Stacy said.
"Stop the fighting", Patricia said.

"Guys"
"Not now Pedro", Patricia said.
"Guys look", Pedro said as he pointed to Adam.
"He's waking up", I said.
We all ran to him.
Finally his eyes opened, blinking once or twice he said," we're all in danger!!"
"For what", I asked.
"Night Armor", Adam said.
"What, we already defeated him", Sabrina said.
"Yeah", Manuel and I said.
"Ok let me explain", Adam said, "I was in space, I saw the whole universe, but in it was Night Armor. We fought until I beat him"

"I find that hard to believe"

"Shhh, I'm talking.
Anyway at the end when I was going to be transported back to Earth I heard a voice tell me that war is coming."
"So this means that danger had just begun?", I asked.
"Yes", Adam said.

"Psssst"

I looked around, I didn't see where it was coming from.

Then I heard it again.

This time I turned around and saw Connor in the bushes.
His hand signals told me to come where he was, so I followed.

I tried to go as fast as I could so no one could see me. When I got there I saw Connor bending down and looking at me with his brown eyes.
Then I bend down and we began to talk.

"Why did you call me here?", I asked.
"Well, I like to talk to you out of everyone", Connor said.
"Is that all?", I asked.
"There's something I have to tell you", Connor said.
"What is it?", I asked.
"Well you know that I used to be evil, right", Connor said.
I noticed that his voice sounded strange, like if he was nervous or something.
"Yeah", I said.
"Well now I want to change and be good, a nice person to people and have a good heart for love ones", Connor said.
"That's a good thing. You already had a good heart, you were always good. You just had to find it, that's all", I said.
"Your different from other girls that I knew in my past", Connor said.
"What do you mean?", I said.
"Well. Your nice, gentle, kind, and pretty", Connor said.
That's very nice of you", I said.
After saying that Connor started to feel more confident. Then he asked me,
"Have you ever kissed a guy before?"
"No, I haven't", I said.
"What about you?", I asked.
"No", Connor said.
Then it was a moment of silence.

Then I stood up.
"Well that was a nice talk, but maybe I should go now", I said.
"Oh ok", Connor said.
Then as I began walking off I noticed a lake, I wanted to see it up close, so I went. From the view I saw forest and mountains, it was truly a beautiful sight.

Then I felt something push me. I turned around and saw nothing. As soon as I turned back to look at the lake I felt it again, but this time I fell into the lake. I tried to swim up, but it felt like something was grabbing my feet.

It was dragging me farther away from shore and deeper into the lake. Next thing I know I was seeing darkness around me as I went deeper. I almost ran out of breath. Then wiggling my feet I tried to escape the grip, but it was just to strong. Then I was finally able to move. I tried swimming up but I was losing breath. I began to feel unconscious.
Then I felt a hand grab me, it was Connor. He began swimming to the surface. I was finally able to breathe. Grabbing me by the arms he swam back to shore.

When he was able to stand up in the water, he grabbed me by the feet and lifted me in the air.

Shocked, I told him
"It's not that necessary"
"I just want to prevent you from getting hurt", Connor said.
"Oh ok", I said.
When he made it to the shore he put me down easily.
We looked at each other awkwardly.
"Well we should be getting back to the others", Connor said.
"Yeah we should", I said.

Then we began walking away from the shore and heading into the forest. Finally seeing my friends we knew that we didn't get lost, what a relief!
"Hey what's that on your leg", Connor said.
I looked down and saw a red hand print on my leg.
"How did I get that", I said.
"Wait, maybe it was that ''thing'' dragging me into the water."
"That "thing" really wanted to drag you into the water", Connor said.
"Yeah", I said.
"Thank you for helping me."
"Your welcome", Connor said.
"As a reward you get this", I said.
"Get what?", he asked.

I knew that what I was about to do will be the first time I will ever do it. But now I'm scared of what will happen after.....
