Naruto's P.O.V

'Hell yeah!!
I can't believe I pulled off such a cool entrance?!!
I hope Ak-- um... I mean, Sakura, saw it!!
And I didn't even throw the shuriken that hard and he went flying!
I must be really awesome!!

Aki looks pretty tired... I wonder what happened before I got here?'

"Here I am, to save the day!
You know how the story goes. Things look bleak... Till the hero arrives--
And then- POW!! - bye-bye bad guys!"
I announced, pleased with my incredible speech.

Sakura actually looked really happy to see me!

"Naruto!" She yelled, grinning with an expression of utter relief.

I glanced at Aki, who was smirking and panting heavily. He gave me a shaky thumbs up.

I was still beaming until Zabuza and the masked ninja threw a bunch of shuriken and needles at me.

'Here it comes!!'

Bracing myself, I doubted my ability to block so many projectiles.

Then the strangest thing happened, the weapons cancelled each other out!!

I looked warily at the culprit, who was the masked ninja who made me feel so inferior just last week.
'But I'm stronger now! I won't be beaten again!!'

Zabuza turned his emotionless gaze to the boy,
"Haku... What are you doing?"

Haku stood from his crouch,
"... Zabuza, sir, please let me have this boy.
I want to fight him in my own way..."

Zabuza stared silently at his partner, his eyes betraying his doubt,
"So, you want me to keep my hands off him, eh, Haku?
How charmingly naïve of you... As usual..."

I stared at Sasuke, who looked so beaten, his blood staining the concrete. Despite the dire situation, I felt more determined than ever.
'I will save him!'

Sasuke seemed to look hopeful at my arrival.
That is, until, I popped up beside him within the dome of mirrors.

"Yo! Sasuke! I'm here to rescue you!"

I grinned, pleased with myself and high from the feeling of being a hero.

'Why's he glaring at me?'

"Y-you doofus! No stealth... No caution... And you call yourself a ninja?!
Now that you've gotten yourself trapped in here with me... Just do what you want. I don't really care."

I grit my teeth, 'ungrateful bastard!'

"Oh, fine!!! I went through hell to rescue you, and this is the thanks I get?!"

"I'm sorry Naruto, but he's right. You are a bit of a doofus..."

"What the hell?! Aki-chan?! Why in kami's name are you here aswell?!"

Aki was still panting for some reason, but he managed to sneak in here just to agree with Sasuke.

He facepalmed,
"Kuso... Dammit, I forgot... I was meant to stay outside... Ah, well.
Might as well protect you Naruto!"
