i think he likes me... You know "like like"s me. But I don't feel that way.
We're friends. Only friends.

I just hope it does ruin our friendship.

a few days later im about to go to bed when i get a text.

jacob: i miss you brook.

god. i don't wanna talk to him rn.
I'll just ignore him.

jacob: please answer. i just want to talk to you.

dang it Jacob. fine.

Me: what do you want

jacob: im sorry.

Me: i would say the same.

jacob: look, i wish we were together. I miss hearing you laugh. And seeing you smile.
could you give me another chance?

Without any hesitation I type.

Me: no

jacob: what? you didn't even think about it.

Me: yeah because I didn't have to.

jacob: i know right now your answer is no but promise you'll keep it in the back of your mind?

Me: I'm not promising anything.

jacob: just remember im always here if you need anything.

I don't respond.

i fall asleep trying very hard not to think about jacob.

when I wake up there's a card on my night stand.

It reads,

Good Morning Brooklynn,

Your father and I are out shopping at the moment. I know it's early in the morning but we're buying swim suits. Why you ask? Because your father and I are going to Cancun!! We won a free trip!.... For 2.
I'm sorry but there's only 2 tickets.
So we're sending you to Phoenix to your aunts house for spring break!
There's waffles in the fridge for breakfast when you get hungry. Love you brookie cookie!

Are you serious? ughhhhh!!!!

Spring break is next week! I should pack so I don't forget.

So that's exactly what I do.
I pack a couple pairs of shorts with tank tops and some other essential things.

i don't finish because i hear a knock on my door.

It's Ethan.

"Hey Ethan!" I greet him.

"Hi Brook, i was wondering if you want to go to the mall with me."

"And Emily too?"

"Oh she's at her friends house right now."

"So just you and me..?"

"Yeah... you don't have to if that's weird.."

"No it's fine. Just give me like 5 minutes to get ready.

"Ok I'll be across the street then."

"Alright. I'll be ready in a minute."

"It's not a date." I keep thinking to myself while I get dressed.

I put on my black shirt with a tiny alien in the corner, some ripped jeans, and some white converse. (Not vans lol)

I decide to leave my hair down.

I go down stairs and run out the door.

"I'm ready!" I yell across the street.

We walk to the mall because it's only about 10 mins away.

Which means more time for talking. yay.

"So what's up?" I ask.

"Nothing. Except walking to the mall with you."

" yeah... maybe i should've asked a different question." I giggle.

"Anyway... What are doing for you spring break?"

"Going to Phoenix to visit my aunt." I say.

"Oh I'm going to Florida to go to Universal Studios." Ethan says.

"Sounds like fun. I wish I could go."

"Yeah I wish you could come too."

what?

My face gets red.

"We're here" I said.

"Yay!" Ethan exclaims.

We walk around for a little and then we walk into  Books&Co. 

We walk upstairs when I see a familiar face.
