Twenty Six // Meetings

Start from the beginning

"Hey, are you almost done? We should get going." Zayn said, poking his head through the door.

"Yeah, yeah. Let me just grab my stuff." I said, walking over to the bed. My phone and a few other things sat on the bed and I quickly grabbed them shoving them in my pockets. Turning to Zayn, I smiled and told him that I was ready to go.

"Hey, I just wanted to tell you that I'm here to talk if you need it. I know that with the hate and Hannah, things aren't going so well with you, but I'm here if you need it." Zayn said.

"Thanks, that means a lot. I'll talk to you if I need it." I said. Zayn nodded and squeezed my shoulder reassuringly before heading out the door. That's one of things that I loved about him. Zayn wouldn't get all up in my face about something. He would let me decide when I needed to talk and he wouldn't pressure me about it.

I closed the door behind me and caught up to Zayn, turning to face him. "So, what do you think Simon wants to talk to us about?"

The elevator doors opened and we were let out into the hallway of the top floor. A receptionist led us down the hallway to a door that read 'Cowell'. A large window was to my left and you could see the London skyline from it. The sun was already beginning to set and the sky was beginning to grow purple and pink, it looked pretty. It looked hopeful.

"Right through here." The older women said, opening up the door. Zayn walked in first and I followed him into the room. The lads were already here, being that Zayn and I were running late due to the traffic in the busy city. I was surprised when I saw that Simon wasn't here; I guess he was even later than we were.

I sent a smile towards the boys and sat down in the white couch that Simon had in his office. I never understood why big time people had white furniture in their office. What if something got spilt or something? I would much rather have something more laid back than this. I get nervous just sitting in here.

As the room filled with chatter amongst the room, I pulled out my phone. I knew it wasn't a good thing but I went onto Twitter, reading through the hate that I was still getting. A lot of it was because of the Nannah breakup. People really liked us together I guess. If only they knew the truth... that she's been cheating on me for the past few months. I really should've known. I still have to get my stuff from the flat.

We were waiting for another few minutes before the door opened and Simon himself walked into the room. He sent a smile in our direction, bidding us a hello before he went to sit behind his desk. I watched as he put his coffee down on the surface of the desk and opened a drawer, pulling out some paper. I locked my phone and slipped it into my pocket as the room quieted down.

"Alright so, how are you all doing?" Simon asked, looking around the room at the five of us.

"We're going pretty good Simon, and you?" Liam answered for all of us.

"Couldn't complain. So, I'm sure that you're all wondering why I called this meeting. It has nothing to do with you as a band, I just wanted to touch up on a few things. First off," Simon said, looking down on the paper that was in front of him. "Niall, there's been a lot of hate going around about you. I'm guess you've seen it?" He asked.

I nodded, "Yeah, I have." Louis placed his hand on my shoulder and he squeezed it reassuringly.

"Well, that's something we can't control. We never could. I suggest being more active with the fans, letting them know that you care more. I also know that you're trying hard to be the celebrity that they want you to be, what with changing your style and even your teeth. It's still not good enough for them and I hate asking this, but maybe if you tried, I don't know, working out more?" Simon said.

I didn't like being put on the spot like this, my cheeks were heating up in embarrassment. All the boy's eyes were on me and before I knew it, I was nodding in agreement. "Sure, I can try that." I said.

"You could come with me to the gym and I can help you out, if you want." Liam said. I looked up at him and nodded as a thank you.

"Okay, so now that that's settled we can get onto more important things. Your album sales are doing great and we are expanding the Take Me Home tour due to the international breakthrough. We are in the process of adding on more shows in North America and Australia. Niall, since there is so much heat on you, you will be the one to announce the concert dates. I'll have someone send you the details and whatnot." Simon said.

He looked down at the paper once more before looking back up at the five of us. "Also, in the next few months you will obviously be taking a break. There will be a few appearances such as the VMA's coming up, as well as some of the other things that you five will be doing. I won't be involved that much in these upcoming months, I'll be away for a while." Simon said.

"Where are you going?" Harry asked.

"I'm actually going to start filming the judges homes portion of the X Factor, USA. I'll be in France with my category, though I have yet to find out who I will be mentoring." Simon asked.

"Anyone worth watching?" Zayn asked.

Simon laughed, "I really shouldn't be saying this, but there is actually. Our last season was pretty good, though the winner hasn't really 'made it' so to speak. But this season there's a girl group that I'm excited about. But who knows? We'll see how it goes."
