15: We Almost Die Twice In One Night

On the way I realized how afraid I was of heights, which was a terrible thing because all we walked through were high places. I almost died when we walked through a jagged waterfall, and the rocky plain mountain region when I almost fell off the damn mountain, and when I ran to the snow and cut my hands because it was only one sheet and not a trillion like I thought. And the fucking cliff face because it decided to be .1 millimeters next to air.

I do not do heights; I should've realized that when they said Mountain and not castle. Kili, Thorin, Bofur, Fili, or Dwalin would always yell when I wouldn't move because I was too scared, or when I'm almost on the brink of death (literally). In two days time we were on a really rocky cliff face. The worst part: it was raining.

"HEY! HOLD ON!" Thorin yelled to us on top of the rain, lightning, and thunder.

He had a steel grip on my hand and carried me through. Bilbo almost fell and I clung onto Thorin.

Oh my God I'm gonna die. This is it. These are my final moments, farewell all, FAREWELL!

"WE MUST FIND SHELTER!" Thorin yelled again.

I said, "Where?!"

"WHAT?!"

"WHERE?!"

"LOOK OUT!" Dwalin yelled and we all looked at what he was looking at.

I yelled, "WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE?!"

These huge stone figures seemed to be fighting with rocks. One bitch threw one right in our direction. Thorin tried to cover me, but he realized he'd fall off if he did.

"THIS IS NO THUNDERSTORM! IT'S A THUNDER BATTLE!" Balin declared.

Wow next you're going to tell me Harry Potter lives in these woods with Hagrid and Aragog. Wait do giant spiders actually exist?!

"WELL BLESS ME. THE ANCIENT LEGENDS ARE TRUE! GIANTS! STONE GIANTS!" Bofur yelled and looked at them.

One yeeted a big ass rock at another's face and it roared in anger.

Yup; I've seen everything.

"TAKE COVER! YOU'LL FALL!" Thorin yelled to Bofur and Kili grabbed him.

"HOLD ON!" I heard Dwalin yell.

I did.

I held on for dear life.

Remind me to never do this again.

We moved and I noticed Fili and Kili got separated.

"KILI!" I yelled.

Thorin pushed me back. I looked up and screamed. Luckily no one but Thorin heard me. We were literally standing on one on the giant's legs. We slammed into another rock and Thorin pulled me.

"C'mon! GO GO!"

We ran to the next one and all got off until the other giant moved. The fight continued and one knocked another's head clean off. It buckled and the others of the Company past us. They crashed into the wall and when the giant pulled away, they were gone.

My mouth hung open as Thorin screamed, "Kili!"

Kili?

I ran faster and all the others were safe. But, it was Fili on this side not Kili.

Good, they're both safe.

Thorin buckled in relief and I let out a sigh.

"Where's the hobbit?!" Bofur said.
