Anne's POV

Her birthday came and I intentionally left our home early so that they won't notice that I left. Well, dad asked me to do a favor for him. He wanted me to be with them for Karylle's birthday celebration. I told them that I'll try, I told them I will be with my friends even though I am not. It's just that, I don't wanna be with them. I mean, why the hell it would be a necessity for me to join them knowing that they weren't with me during my birthday or during the holidays. I don't even know if I still exist in their world. If I still exist in her world.

I admit. The issue here is not about Karylle getting the attention of our parents, the issue here is I seem to be out of her life. Yeah, yeah, I know I also do the same thing. I also make her feel that she's out of my life but what was I expecting is for her to be hurt. I want her to beg for me to enter her life again. I want to make a way for her to tell me that she loves me too.

But...

I really don't know if I could still make that happen...

"Where have you been?" dad asked when I arrived, a bit mad by his tone. Why wouldn't he be mad? It's three in the morning and I'm a bit drunk.

"Just had a few drinks with friends, dad." I tell him nicely as I walk towards the staircase. I lied. I actually drank by myself because I am pathetic. I am a loser. I am hopeless.

"'Wag mo nga akong talikuran 'pag kinakausap kita!" he shouted and pulled me by the arm. "Haven't I told you to spend your day with us!?" I didn't answer. I just rolled my eyes. I don't give a damn if he's mad or what.

"Dad, let her." Karylle said but seems like dad didn't hear her. "Anne, ako na'ng bahala. Umakyat ka na sa kwarto."

"Ikaw, hindi ka ba talaga marunong makinig? 'Di ba sinabi ko nang dito ka lang for K's birthday!?" dad yelled at me again. I pulled my arm away from his grip and rolled my eyes again. "And then what? Uuwi ka na naman ng ganyan!? Wala ka na ba talagang ibang alam gawin kung 'di bigyan kami ng disappointment??"

"What!?" I answered back. "What's the big deal if I wasn't with you guys a while ago? Bakit? Nung birthday ko ba nandun kayo? Nung Pasko at Bagong Taon ba kasama ko kayo? Eh parang 'di na nga ako parte ng pamilyang 'to e. Si Karylle, si Karylle, puro nalang si Karylle! Bullshit!" I gasped when dad suddenly shrieked and pointed his finger on me.

"YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WE'VE BEEN THROUGH IN NEW YORK! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHERE WE WERE DURING YOUR BIRTHDAY! DON'T TALK TO ME AS IF YOU KNOW EVERYTHING!!" I chuckled and rolled my eyes again.

"Will you guys stop!?" mom butt in. "Tama na 'yan! Anne, doon ka na muna sa kwarto mo."

"No! kaya hindi natututo 'to eh. Kinukunsinte niyo!" dad yelled back at Karylle and mom.

"Dad! Tama na please? Sinabi ko naman nang ayos lang sa'kin kung wala si Anne." Karylle said which made me hurt a bit. But I'm really pissed off with dad's attitude. I don't know what's so big deal about not joining them for K's birthday celebration. I have my own life. The hell I care about them?

"See? Eh si Karylle nga walang pakialam sa'kin eh. Eh bakit napaka-big deal sa inyo?" I yelled at dad again.

"At talagang sumasagot ka pa ha, Anne!?" dad shouted back.

"Oh c'mon! Why do you have to act as if this would be her last birthday!?" I asked sarcastically I gasped when my mom is suddenly standing in front of me gripping my wrist so hard.
