Chapter 9 Interrogated by Koots

I walked down the stairs and Aleks followed close behind.

*CODE RED CODE RED*

I sighed as I pulled my phone out of my pocket.

I knew who the message was due to the sound of the Alert. I opened the text.

From Mom: I'm sorry sweetie.

I didn't reply. I just continued to walk towards the kitchen in search for some food.

*CODE RED CODE RED*

'UUGGGGHHHH!'

I once again looked at my phone.

From Mom: I know you looked at my last message.

I didn't bother replying I wasn't in the mood.

"Is everything alright?" Aleks asked.

"Yea-yea." I said sort of unsure how to answer.

"Are you-" Aleks was cut off by my phone going off.

*CODE RED CODE RED*

'Why can't she just leave me alone?'

From Mom: It tells me when you look at the message.

I continued to groan and I answered.

To Mom: Fine wat?

From Mom: I'm sorry

I didn't reply I just went searching in the kitchen for food.

I looked in the freezer and saw pizza bagels bites. My eyes widened and I took the box and spun around to Aleks.

"Can I have these?" I asked eagerly.

"Yea...." He said.

"YE-!" I was cut off.

"Only if.... you share them with me." A stupid grin spread across his face.

"Uggghhh..... fine." I agreed.

I walked over to the oven and placed the pizza bagels bites on the pan and popped it in the oven.

We waited for a minute before I checked on the bagels.

"How long were you going to stay at your mom's?" Aleks asked quietly.

"I was going to stay for a week.... and I didn't even make it past one day." I mumbled.

"Yea." He simply replied.

"I had already bought my ticket home for Sunday..." I began.

"Ohh.." Was all he could say.

"Maybe I'll go to hotel so I don't have to bother you guys and let me stay." my voice got quieter as I spoke.

"No.. No it's ok. And if you are still here by the time Sly and my apartment is fixed up enough for us to stay there maybe you can stay till you have to go."

*DING DING*

I gave him a smile as I walked over to the oven and opened it. I took a towel and pulled the hot pan out of the oven and placed it on the stove.

I looked around.... where are the plates?

"Hey Aleks do you know where the plates are?"

His eyes widened. I guess he didn't.

I let out a little laugh as he walked around looking for plates.

I can't believe they don't have plates.
