Before you read: This story is completely OC(Original Character). Meaning I will take some factual aspects about Erica and Cyn but I'm going to make them into my own characters. Enjoy!

Meet Cyn Santana

What up!!!! My name is Cynthia Santana but everybody just calls me Cyn. I was born in Washington Heights NYC, but moved  Uptown when I was about 5. That was the year my punk ass father left us.

Left my mother to raise four kids on her own. Myself, my two little sister, and my big brother.

We stayed with my grandmother for a minute, until mami could afford a place we could call home. She was the hardest working woman I'd ever known.

I was eighteen now and I was graduating in a few weeks. Thank god because I always hated school. I wasn't dumb, actually I was pretty damn smart, I just hated the work. So now that I was getting out in a few weeks I was beyond ecstatic.

I also had a beautiful baby girl. Her name was Joel. Remember that brother I was telling you about, well that was his name too.

Two years ago, the actual day I found out I was pregnant...was the same day I learned the tragic news of my brothers suicide. That shit still haunted me and hurt me to my core. Joey and I were so close. I missed him everyday. Some days I just wished he would have came to me and told me how he was feeling, I could have helped him.

But my baby  had her uncles eyes so whenever I felt down, looking at her always reminded me of him.

Her father on the other hand was much like the one I grew up without. Hardly ever around and didn't help me out at all.

I was fifteen when I met Cameron, and somewhere in that little fifteen year old brain I thought I was in love with him. Well I was, until I found out I was far from his only girl.

I didn't give a fuck though, I was used to dudes who weren't shit. So when I found out I was pregnant I knew I was strong enough to handle taking care of my baby by myself. I didn't need Cameron's sorry ass anyway.

Nah, he was too busy in the streets being reckless. Joey didn't need to be around his toxic lifestyle anyway. It was my job to protect her, so that's what I had to do.

Trust me I wasn't one of those bitter baby momma's to chase a nigga around. If he wasn't man enough to take care of his seed, then I was going to be woman enough to pick up the slack and make sure my daughter was always good.

Now  Carmen was my best friend. Ironic that Cameron was her big brother. We grew up together and if you saw her, I was never too far behind.

Joel had made us even closer. She loved her niece and unlike her brother whatever I needed she was there to help.

Carmen was like my sister, fuck that she was my sister. Blood wouldn't make us any closer.

Taking care of baby Joey wasn't easy at all, but I had to do it. She deserved the world and everything my momma couldn't give to me. And I was gonna' give it to her.

So I had no shame in my current occupation. I was a dancer at a club way across town. I'd only been eighteen a couple months so I hadn't been working there long but the money was good.

So good, that at eighteen I already had my own place. It wasn't anything extravagant. Just a place where me and baby Jojo could lay our heads.

Carmen spent most of her nights sleeping on my damn couch, so you could say she practically lived there too. I didn't mind though.

If you would have asked me when I was a little shortie where I'd be three weeks before my high school graduation I wouldn't  have pictured this.

But these were the cards I had been dealt. This was my life.
