She inhaled the scent

Of the fresh morning air

Washing over her

In ripples of delicate fragrance

Happiness alighted her dark eyes

Filling them with a dreamy, curious gaze

As she twirled around

Amidst the flowers

Swaying in the gentle breeze

The petals of pink, and yellow, orange and red

Surrounded her in a circle of colors

Brushing their tips along her sides

And she ran giggling

Through the glimmering green grass

Her bare-feet glistening with tiny drops of dew

She swooped down

Her slender fingers bunching the flowers

Into a large bouquet

A bouquet of happiness

She raised them to her nose

And sighed in content

The sleepy, floral aroma

Filling her nostrils

She threw her head back

Her long hair flowing behind her

Skipping around

The big, green field

Her feet moving

Her feet moving to a beat

A beat no one could hear

No one but her
