I stared at Clyde, petrified. What if he plans to beat me up in front of everyone? What is he planning? It's too much pressure!

I looked over at Craig, who was acting nonchalant about the whole situation. As if this were normal.

Then, I remembered.

Craig and Clyde are best friends. This is normal.

I look at between both of them.

Craig is staring at Clyde stoically and Clyde hasn't looked up from the floor since he sat down.

This is so awkward! We need to have a conversation. I can't start a conversation!

Suddenly, another tray slams down onto the table, jerking me from my thoughts.

I look and see Token sit down next to Clyde, and across from Craig.

Token looks between Craig and Clyde with a confused look, then he looks at me.

"Hi," he says the first words since everyone sat down.

"Sup," Craig replies not even glancing at him.

"Hey Token," Clyde mutters not looking up from the ground.

"H-Hi," I say. He smiles.

We sit there in silence for a few minutes, and instead of the 5 minutes we sat there, felt like an hour.

"What happened between you?" Token finally asks looking at Craig and Clyde.

"It's all his fault!" Clyde says still not looking up.

Token gives Clyde a confused look, that he didn't see.

Clyde looks up finally, and he has a black eye, a busted lip, and other bruises on his face.

I stare at the bruises.

Then, Clyde looks over at me, and he just stops for a second. We stare at each other.

"Token! Tell Craig he needs to learn to share!" Clyde whines.

I have never seen him like this before...
