Chapter 3 - Confused and Scared

[Recap: After waking up to cranks banging on their windows, Newt and the rest go to the girls dormitory to get Teresa and Wendy only to find that the two are missing and this guy named Aris claims to have never seen them and had been transferred there the night before. Soon, Newt and Thomas look for the two girls amongst the dead bodies they found hanging from the ceiling only to find one. Wendy was hanging upside down until she was brought down, then revealing the shocking fact that her memories were erased once again.]

"The Blind One?" Frypan asked as Wendy threw Minho off of her and sent him an ugly look, one that made the boy stumble back, surprised. "I thought she was The Replacement—"

"She's not anymore." Newt's sharp voice cut off, his eyes still set on the conflicted girl in front of him. "Her memories came back a little bit in the Glade and the only reason she came up the box was because Isabella affected us in the wrong way. Remember how Ava talked about how they were studying our brain patterns? Apparently Isabella affected us in the wrong way and Wendy was the only way they could fix the problem. She isn't the Replacement anymore, she's just blind." he finished as he saw Wendy staring at him with confusion as if every word he spoke was another language.

"I'm sorry, I don't know who any of you are, but you all seem to know me pretty well seeing that blondey over there is getting emotional." she said right after, folding her arms across her chest. "But I need to get home, Mom and Brenda and George are waiting for me—"

"Wendy, you need to calm down." Minho told her, laying a hand on her arm, but she pulled it away as if his touch stung her. "Let us explain!"

"Explain what? That you weirdos are trapping me here? Look, I have school tomorrow night and—"

"There is no school." Newt cut off, trying to reason with the girl he didn't know any more in front of him. She still looked like Wendy, but she wasn't the Wendy he fell in love with. This girl was different, but he still loved her, he still wanted to protect her, to him, she was still his. And he needed to get her back in some way. "There is no home, there is no houses or grocery stores. There is no Mom, Dad, brother, sister."

Wendy heaved in a deep breath, slowly starting to calm down, but with her heart still ramming against her chest, as Newt spoke even louder. "What are you talking about?" she asked, her brows furrowed and hands dropping to her sides.

"Your name is Wendy Vincent." he started off, slowly inching towards her, "You have brown hair and hazel eyes, you're in love with strawberries, and you hate it when people snore. You always wear your hair down or in a side braid, you hate when it's in your face or gets in your way. You have a scar on your right leg and a hole in your right arm because you were almost killed. There is no life for you to go back to, Wendy. There's nothing anymore."

Wendy rammed her head into the wall she was currently leaning against. Newt could practically see the battle going on inside of her after Minho, Thomas, and Newt told her everything that has happened. Let's just say that it involved screaming, crying, and some harsh words in order to get all the information out,

"This sounds like something right out of a book. A pretty messed up one." Wendy laughed bitterly, her hands clenching onto her shirt as her eyes roamed around the room. "I don't believe one sentence that just came out of all your mouths. Just to let you all know."

Minho groaned and looked at Newt, seeing the distress on his face as he sighed. "Wendy, it's all true. If you look around, all of us have scars or wounds. It happened yesterday morning."
