Minho immediately took action, and Newt heard glass shattering behind him as he undid the knots that bonded her wrists together in the meantime. The rope feel apart and soon, Minho came into his vision and started to cut away at the rope suspending her in the air with a large piece of glass. Minho felt the sharp edges of the glass cutting into his skin, making blood spill quickly, but he didn't care because the only thought in his mind was getting Wendy down safely.
Meanwhile, Newt tried to wake up the girl. His hands cupped her upside down face, trying to wake the girl up.
"Hey, Wendy, you need to wake up." he tried to say calmly, but his voice was shaky and laced with worry and pain. "Love, you need to wake up."
And she did right after.
Newt watched as her eyes fluttered open, and the blonde sighed in relief, his heart hammering against his chest as he saw his favorite pair of hazel eyes once again. A large smile fell on his lips, the worried tears that brimmed his eyes turning into ones of happiness. He looked up and saw Minho sigh in relief too, still cutting away at the rope to free the girl.
"Hey, Wendy. How you feeling?" he asked her, pushing hair out of her face again. The girls eyes darted around the room as a response, her emotionless face soon contorting into one of complete confusion when her eyes finally landed on the boy in front of her.
"Wendy?" she asked curiously, the name foreign to her as it tumbled through her lips. "Who's Wendy?"
Newt laughed, a bittersweet one as he eyed the girl with a smile. "You're upside down right now and were almost dead thirty seconds ago and yet, you're still making jokes." he said to her, shaking his head with a smile.
Wendy crinkled her nose and furrowed her brows at the blonde, "Who are you? Who's Wendy?" she asked again, feeling lightheaded as she swung back and forth slightly. "I'm confused."
"You can drop the act now, Wendy." Newt said, slowly starting to grow frustrated at the girls tendency of making jokes at the worst time. "We thought you were dead."
Finally, Minho cut through the rope and the girl dropped into Newt's arms, letting out a small shriek as she dropped a short way and the blood started to retreat into her body normally. Minho slowly stepped off of Thomas' leg that he was using as a stool as walked over to the pair. His hand was bleeding severely, but he didn't care, Wendy was safe.
"At least you're alive, shank." Minho told the brunette with relief, "Would've gone insane without you; you should've seen Newt two minutes ago."
Wendy furrowed her brows and slowly stepped out of Newt's arms, the feeling unfamiliar as she gained balance and looked around at all the men standing around her. She crinkled her nose again. "I'm sorry," she said as her eyes met everyone's, "but I don't know who any of you are." she repeated sincerely.
She stepped back as the boys stepped forward, crossing her arms around her chest as they all stared at her even more sharper than before.
"Wendy—" the blonde started again, and the girl frowned and started to grow irritated.
"Quit calling me that name!" she shouted angrily. She was confused, frustrated, and slightly upset at the odd events taking place around her, she couldn't stand anything at the moment because she didn't know anything. She didn't know these people, she didn't know where she was, she didn't know who she was and she just suddenly woke up hanging upside down surrounded by boys who were touching her too much, particularly the blonde one in front of her. "Stop calling me that name! I'm not whoever you think I am."
Newt looked around as she said those words, his eyes finding Minho's and then Thomas'. His heart suddenly dropped when he saw her blank face, her blank and confused face staring right at him with emotionless eyes. He had to be dreaming, this had to be a dream, there was no way—
"Can you all just tell me where I am?" Wendy said through clenched teeth, "I want to go see my Mom, she told me I needed to be home by eight."
Newt's brows furrowed and he reached out to touch the girl he loved, but she reared back. "Why do you keep trying to touch me? I don't know you and I don't know who you think you are."
Thomas suddenly came up beside the blonde and snapped his eyes at Minho, the boy who was behind the shocked girl. "Check her neck." he said suddenly, and Minho seemed to snap out of his trance and muttered a 'what?'
"Check her neck, check what they wrote." he commanded, and Newt realized that he was talking about the tattoos they had just found out about on their own skin. If they had a tattoo, she had to have one too, maybe one that explained what was going on. So Minho nodded and slowly moved towards the girl.
"Check my neck? The hell—hey stop!" she screamed as Minho pulled down the back of her shirt, revealing the back of her neck as his eyes scanned over the words that were inked onto his skin.
"Group A, Subject A0, The..." he read out loud, but his voice stopped as his eyes widened at the last word.
"What is it?" Newt asked, tears falling from his face as he realized what was going on. Minho sighed before he looked up.
"Group A, Subject A0, The Blinded One."
