Recap:

"Thanks that means a lot.," he says

I'm probably about to make another huge mistake by telling him this, but hopefully this will actually turn out right.

"Since you trust me enough to tell me you're haunted past I want to tell you the real reason I couldn't stay in Candor. The truth is I'm Divergent.," I say in fear of his reaction

Now onto the story:

Ari's POV

"I'm Divergent too.," he replies blowing me away

"Well I'm glad I told you. I was worried you thought Divergents were harmful to our society and would try to get me killed.," I say

"Yeah well I know your fond of Eric and he's fond of you too, but he's the one who thinks Divergents are harmful to society. I know he's working with Jeanine and so is Max.," he says

"No he wouldn't do that.," I say in disbelief

"Come on deep down you knew. That's why you haven't told him.," he says

"No I just couldn't trust anyone.," I say although I know it's not true

"That's a lie and you know it.," he says

"Okay, but I can't deal with the fact I can't trust him.," I say

"Well I'm hoping you can change him for the better. He seems happy when he's with he's with you. I hope you can change his mind and make him see past his barrier he's put up.," he says

"Yeah well I've never been a miracle worker.," I say

"Who said it takes a miracle. I believe he has good in him, even though I despise him right now witht the way he's treating the initiates and especially Tris. He doesn't want to think she'll make it past the first stage.," he says irritated about the subject

"You like Tris, don't you?," I ask not really needing an answer because I already know. I just want to hear him admit it.

"Of course I do. It's obvious.," he says

"Not to anyone else, but me.," I say

"So how was your life in Candor?," he asks

"Good my parents were very supportive of me. They thought everything I did was wonderful.," I say day dreaming about home

"Then why did you leave them?," he asks

"My divergence would be discovered if I stayed there.," I say sighing

"Oh I should've thought of that.," he says guiltily

"It's okay. So how was your life. Are you from Dauntless or were you a transfer?," I ask with curiosity

"It's difficult.," he says hiding something

"Look I came from Candor, and I can tell when someone is lying or keeping a secret. What is it?," I ask

"It's not that easy I haven't told anyone about my past.," he says with a frown evident on his face

"I trusted you, so you need to trust me this is how real friendships work.," I say/explain

"Okay I'm originally from Abnegation.," he says still frowning

I know there's more to the story because he looks like he's in pain with resurfacing memories.

"I know there's something more to the story.," I say prying for more details

"Okay I'll tell you, but please don't tell anyone ever.," he says

"I would never.," I say

"My real name from Abnegation is Tobias Eaton.," he says

I gasp.

"Not to be nosey, but are the rumors true?," I ask

He doesn't reply he just looks down with pain in his eyes. I know the answer now, and I hate Marcus Eaton he has everyone fooled. Everyone thinks he's some kind of saint. Now I know the truth despite the fact that it's a horrible revelation.

"Yes the rumors are true, but based on my expression you figured that much.," he says

"Yeah I caught on real quick. So did your mother really die?," I ask

"Yes.," he says too quickly

"You're lying.," I say

"Okay I thought she was dead until recently. She tried to contact me  and she's among the factionless serving as their leader.," he says

"Wait so she basically faked her death?," I ask

"Yes.," he says

"Wow your life sounds hard and I'm so sorry you had to go through that. No one deserves that. I wouldn't wish what happened to you on my enemy let alone on my close friend, and even though we haven't known each other for along time I feel like your the big brother I never had and will never have.," I say

"I agree accept your like the little sister I never had.," he says

"Yeah.," I say

"So did your parents look angry when you left?," he asks

"I looked at their faces and no they looked proud and understanding.," I say

"You're lucky I practically disgraced his name when I transferred. He did come on visiting day probably to hit me. I took one look at him and ran towards a place he wouldn't be able to find me.," he says

"I wish you didn't have to go through that.," I say

"I wish I didn't either.," he says
