At the choosing ceremony

Arietta's POV

I was in the line and I was very nervous Christina chose Dauntless but I don't know if I can go there is it safe there I know it's not safe here because I'm required to take a truth serum and idk if they know if I'm under the influence or not but idk anything about Dauntless yet I don't want me and Christina's friendship to end because we ended up in different factions so I decided I'm going to be Dauntless soon enough my name is called and I'm finally at the front of the line I go up and poke my hand with the knife and blood slowly comes out and starts running down I hesitate because once I let my blood drip on the coals there's no going back so I take a second before deciding to place my hand over the coals and it takes like 10 seconds for my blood to drip onto the sizzling coals and I hear gasps of shock come from the Candor section and I keep my head up while I walk over to the Dauntless area after a ton of other people it's time to leave to our new lives and the Dauntless start running down the staircase so I started running with them and they started climbing up to the train tracks so I followed them and once we got up there they started to line up and I just stepped into the line and waited because that's what they seemed to be doing then after about 2 minutes a train starts slowly making its way towards us and they're lunging so I think you have to jump so when the train got closer I prepared to jump I waited until the third train car came and I jumped on to the stool and hoisted myself in I looked around and decided to sit and pray Chris made it onto the train because I don't want her to be faction less after a few seconds Chris jumps on the the stool and I pull her in and she hugs me and we sit down a couple seconds later a girl with struggle climbed into the train car and sat down beside me

"What's your name", Chris asked the girl

"My name is Beatrice", she replied

"I'm Christina and this is my friend  Arietta but I call her Ari", she informed the girl named Beatrice

"I call her Chris or Chrissy", I inform Beatrice

"Well it's nice to meet you", Beatrice says

"They're jumping off", Somebody yells

"Are they trying to kill us", Chris says

"Idk but we should jump now", I say it's weird that I'm not scared

"Okay let's jump together", Chris says as she grabs mine and Beatrice's hand

"1..2..3", I say as we jump

We all let go in midair and we land hard on the hard gravel pavement I see a girl crying and looking down and realize not everyone made it I want to go and comfort her, but I know people will think I'm soft so I forced myself to look away

"Alright I'm Eric I'm one of the leaders of Dauntless if you want to get in you have to jump off of this ledge", a hot but scary looking guy says while gesturing to the ledge you have to jump off of to get in

"Alright any volunteers", Eric ask

"Me", I say almost immediately after the words leave his mouth because he obviously wouldn't want all of us to fall to our death there has to be something at the bottom and I'm eager to find out so I make my way up to the ledge and as soon as I get onto it I jump and land in a net I quick make my way to the edge and see a guy coming towards me so I pull myself out of the net and look him in the eye he seems familiar (just so you know they haven't met before but they look alike for a reason)

"What's your name", he asks

"Um it's Ari", I say (Ari is pronounced like are except you can here the e like re)

"First jumper Ari", He announces

"My name is Four I'm your instructor because I instruct the transfers and Lauren over there instructs the Dauntless born", he explains to me as I make my way to stand away from the net

Next comes down Beatrice and Four asks her name and he told her she could change it and she said Tris so now her new name is Tris sounds good a few more people come down then Chris comes and tells them to call her Christina but I'm still calling her Chris or Chrissy anyway after awhile everyone finally gets down here safely and Four explained again because I was the first jumper I was the only one to find out we were going with him because he instructs the transfers so he told everyone once they all came down and we followed him as he showed us around the compound and at last he showed us the sleeping quarters where we would be living for the next couple of months and he told us to get changed and throw our old faction clothes away and to come down to the cafeteria once were done he then leaves and I grab my clothes and I strip down to my underwear and bra without hesitation

"Oh so you don't mind giving us a sight to see",Peter says while whistling and I walk up to him and slap him straight in the face

"Shut your trap Peter and mind your own business leave me and my friends alone", I say my eyes flaring daggers at him

"Okay bitch don't need to lay your dirty fingers on me", He says trying to be cool

"Actually I do because you are an asshole who thinks he's cool so stop with the bad boy act and go back to your stupid sidekicks", I say

"Fine dumb", I take his hand and flip him on the ground

"Say one more thing", I say

And then me, Chrissy, and Tris walk out of the room
