His Hope (An Eric Love story)

Ch. 6- Surprise Encounter

In present a few days later.

Arietta's POV

It's the weekend and we've done knife throwing. Al refused to listen to Eric so he made him stand in front of the target while Four would throw knives at him and If he flinched he was out. So Tris interrupted and took his place the conditions staying the same. I have to admit I'm pissed at Eric. How could he be so cruel. Luckily, Tris stood and didn't flinch then Four eventually chipped Tris' ear. So Eric said she got points for bravery, but not as much as she lost for opening her big mouth. I'm still angry with him, and he knows because when he tries to look at me I quickly look away avoiding his gaze.

I'm currently in my bed with my eyes closed not wanting to be bothered, but that can not ever happen with Peter and his dumb sidekicks around.

"Hey King stop being so good we all know you're not going to make it.," he says trying to intimidate me

"Shut your fucking mouth Peter before I shut it for you.," I say

"Like you can bitch.," he says

I go to kick him where it hurts when Eric walks in and says

"INITIATE WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING.," he yells

"Um..," I trail off not knowing how to reply

"Not you. Pretty boy I heard you antagonizing her.," he says glaring daggers at Peter

"All I was saying is the truth sir.," he says sarcastically

"Don't sass me you're nothing but a coward picking on people.," Eric says

"Come on Ari I need to have a chat with you.," Eric says suddenly directing his attention to me

I don't know how to respond so

"Um okay.," I say

I walk beside him until we get by the Chasm.

"Why haven't you been making eye contact with me?," he asks

"I'm a little pissed that you did that to Al and Tris.," I say being honest

"I'm sorry, but they have to learn.," he says

"Well Al is a big softy yet he tries to fit in and you make that so much harder for him.," I say defending Al

"Look just between you and I, I don't think Al will make it in Dauntless.," he says which makes me even more pissed with him

"DON'T SAY THAT. YOU DON'T KNOW HIM HE'LL MAKE IT I BELIEVE IN HIM.," I yell really frustrated

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you.," he says stepping closer to me

"Okay well please try not to undermine my friends because I want us to be able to have hope because hope is the only thing stronger than fear.," I say

He hugs me. I'm shocked is one way to describe it. Yet I hug back.

"I'd like to believe you have hope in me.," he says

"I do, but I don't know much about you.," I say

"Well I want you to get to know me, and I want to get to know you.," he says

I don't want to show fear, but I can't let him get to know me because he can't find out about me.

"Yeah I would love that.," I say

"Do you want to come to my apartment and we can talk.," he invites

"Sure I would love that,." I say accepting his offer

We walk back to his apartment chatting about random stuff. We arrive and go in.

"You can sit on my bed I'll sit on the chair.," he says kindly

"Thanks.," I say as I sit on his bed

"So ask me anything and I answer as best as I can.," he says

"Okay  so what faction are you originally from?," I ask

"Erudite.," he answers

"Interesting. What's your mom and dad's name?," I ask

"Well my mom's name is Bella and my dad walked out on us.," he says

"I'm so sorry I didn't know.," I say regretfully

"Hey look at me.," he says while walking over and he sits by me and holds my face with his hand

"You didn't know. Yeah my dad walked out on us. His name is Tom and he's a piece of shit. Once he left my mom got addicted to serums and she became abusive.," he explains

"Wow I'm so sorry you didn't deserve that no one deserves that.,'' I say consolingly

"Yeah well you're the only one I've ever trusted enough to tell. When I first heard your voice I knew that I could trust you. Even though you only said 'me', it was enough for me to hear trust and sincerity in your voice.," he says

"Wow I don't know what to say other than I'm glad you can confide in me, because I'll never speak about what you tell me to anyone.," I say truthfully

"I know. So because of my mother I had to get  away from there. I then took the Aptitude Test and I received Dauntless, so I figured that was as good as a reason to leave that I cold find. I chose Dauntless and made a promise not to care for someone so I wouldn't feel anymore pain. You're also the first person I broke  that promise for.," he says sincerely

"Well I'm honored.," I say

"Yeah. Look, I care about you as a friend someone I can trust, and I hope you can trust me.," he says

"I can.," I say wishing it was true. I hate lying, but I don't know how he'll react.

"Good. Well you should get going it's almost time for lunch.," he says

"Yeah. I'll see you later.," I say

A/N: So I decided to update this because I'm up at 1 o'clock in the morning and I already typed the chapter I just had to add this A/N because I do it at the end of almost all of my chapters. Either way I don't know what else to include in this A/N other than I hope you enjoy it. I'll try to update soon.
