(Hotch's P.O.V)
I came back to the hospital to just check on everything. When I was walking down the hallway to Derek's room, Reid left his room. I couldn't read his expression but I definitely didn't expect what happened next.
He came up to me and handed me his badge. I looked at at him confused and was about to ask him when he answered.
"i'm not mad anymore I just can't do it anymore. I can't keep going to hospitals and waiting in the waiting room for hours to see if my friends are alive." I stood there speechless. "I know that that is the job and I know that this means that I can't handle the job."
"Reid-" I tried but he stopped me.
"I made my decision. I can't do it. It's breaking me." with that he left and I didn't see him for almost a year.
