Chapter 14

Katie's P.O.V

I really didn't know what to say or think after Mason had admitted to all of that. I was still in shock over the death of my sister and my mind was in a big jumble.

When Mason had mentioned that he was going to make sure no one was going to ever love me again had made me worry about my mom and I really didn't want anything to happen to her. She's all I have now and I know I need to do everything I can while Mason has me, to make sure that she doesn't get killed and that I can finally look get a chance to run into her arms again.

I still felt a little bad about what happened to him that night but I hated the things he was doing to get back at me. I still didn't want to believe that my sister was dead but part of me knew that they weren't lying.

I wish Mason would stop hurting my family because they had nothing to do with any of this, my sister and father are both dead because of me and it's not fair that I get to live. The only reason I think he is keeping me alive is so that I can suffer like this.

The car suddenly came to a stop and I fell onto Mason from the impact but I quickly moved away from him with a disgusted look on my face.

"What the hell is going on?" Mason asked.

"Well... We ran out of gas and I'm not sure where we are ." Aiden announced from the driver's seat and I turned to look at Mason to see that his jaw was clenched and his eyes were full of rage.

I looked out of the window and noticed that we were outside of a convenient store and it was dark but I didn't see a gas station anywhere.

"YOU IDIOT!" Mason yells at Aiden and I quickly scoot away from him but it doesn't make much of a difference.

"I'm sorry boss but I'm just tired, it's like one in the morning an-" Aiden started saying something but Mason cut him off and seemed calmer this time.

"I don't want to hear it. We will all just go into the convenience store and see what we can do." Mason said and my eyes lit up with hope.

"Not you," Logan said to me and my heart sunk.

"You will stay here with Aiden."Mason's says

"Awee I don't want to babysit," Aiden complains but Logan, Ash and Mason ignored him and exited the car.

After they left I just stared out of the window and looked at the scenery. It was dark outside now and I watched as cars drove by, wondering where they were headed to. They were probably going somewhere nice, somewhere better than where I was going. Maybe they were going to visit their family or are coming home from a hard day at work...Something I may never get to do again. Something that my sister will never get to do.

A tear slid down my face as I thought of my sister, although she was older than me, we were always very close and after my fathers death, she helped me through it.

If Mason had been telling the truth then I would never get to run into her arms again. I felt like her death was my fault and it really hurt to think that but deep down I knew it was true, if I had never helped my dad to arrest Mason then I wouldn't be here, I would still be with Colton's group but maybe they would have just given up on me by now and let me go.

After a few minutes I heard snoring and I looked over to see Aiden sleeping and I broke out into a smile. I quickly looked to see if the door was unlocked and thankfully it was. Without really thinking too much I opened the door and ran, I looked back and I was so happy to see no one following me.

This time I wasn't getting caught, I escaped too many times for this and nothing was going to come into my way.

I continued to run and once I knew I was out of sight I slowed my pace and went down an alley. It was dark and there was a lot of homeless people lying against the fences sleeping and smoking. I continued to quickly walk and I ignored the voices around me calling me and asking for money.

I turned the corner and there was no one down this part of the alley and I kept my head down and continued to walk straight. My head was feeling dizzy and my stomach was rumbling, I wasn't sure how long it had been since I ate and it had been a while since I had anything to drink.

I continued walking and I stumbled a bit and suddenly I crashed into something I fell back a bit but someone caught me and steadied me.

I looked up and it took me a while for my eyes to focus but when they did I saw that it was a man, he was in his late twenties and from what I could see, he had an ear piercing, Black hair that was long at the top and shaved at the sides, I couldn't really tell what colour his eyes were but I was pretty sure they were a dark brown and he was tall maybe about 6 feet.

"Are you okay girl?" He asks and I looked up at him with wide eyes. This was finally my chance to get help.

"HELP ME! PLEASE, THEY ARE COMING FOR ME!" I panicked and looked behind me to see if they were coming but they weren't.

"Calm down... who is coming for you?" he asked as he put his hands on my shoulders to calm me down.

"Please... these men. They..kidnapped me and just please call 911" I say slower this time. My vision was starting to get blurrier now and before I knew it I was falling into the man's arms.

"Don't worry you'll be safe." Was the last thing I heard the man say before I blacked out.
