AN: Sorry for another annoying author’s note but I have a few things to inform you guys. The first is that sadly I am heading off to camp on Sunday and will not be back until next Friday, but as soon as I get home I am going straight to work on chapter 17. And then on July 7th I am leaving for a school trip to California for 19 days so I won’t be able to update for a bit. But I promise I will make it up to you. On Wednesday of this week, I went to the One Direction concert in Nashville and I can’t even begin to describe to you how inspiring it was. I have tons of new ideas for this book and can’t wait to pursue them. Some how my step dad got me front row seats to the show and I just couldn’t believe it, I feel like I met them. I have videos of Zayn, Niall, Liam, Louis, AND Harry all waving at my friend and me, and long story short, I couldn’t have asked for anything more. My last piece of news is, I am happy to announce that I will be starting a new book! I am of course going to keep this one going, but the new is called, ‘Our little Tomlinson.’ I am super excited for a new challenge and I hope you like it. I am posting the first two chapters tonight along with Chapter 16, so please check it out for me. Thank so much for all the lovely comments and votes, it means a lot! :)

Thanks and enjoy...

Chapter 16:

Madison’s POV:

I’m caught...

I have to think of a lie, and fast. What possible reason would make sense to keep a journal with your life’s past in the fire place?

“Maddie? Why is your journal in the fire place?” Louis questions me as the boys start to squeeze tighter around me. The fear starts to kick in, making me feel trapped.

Liam walks over with the journal in hand, ready to open it up for inspection, ready to inspect me and my untrustworthy actions.

Come on Maddie, quick. Think of something! ANYTHING! Stuttering is not an option, you have to be confident, even if it doesn’t make sense. And no rambling.  “I was scared, after the dinner when we passed by my old guardian’s house, I just wanted to know it was safe. And after seeing all those- pa- paparazzi, the idea of someone breaking in doesn’t seem too crazy, its the one thing that means most me, so I just wanted it some where safe. You know, just in case anything happened.” My small voice as confident as possible.

The boys all glance at each other, as if they are having a silent conversation consulting wither or not to believe me. Louis sits on my right, Zayn on my left and both seem to find the pass time of inspecting my facial expression to be the source of truth, productive. After what feels likes hours Louis seems to end his search, “Maddie you know things are perfectly safe here, right? Believe it or not we have a lot of security around here just in case, but if you’re that worried, the lads and I have a safe. We keep all important documents, passports, family heirlooms, stuff like that, we would be happy to keep your journal in there if you want. We could give it to you whenever you like, but then you know it’s in safe keeping.” Louis offers as Liam begins to probe my journal, very close to opening it up.

I start to sit up reaching for my journal in Liam’s hands only to cause a weak grunt of pain, “No, No thats ok, but thank you. I feel better when it’s around. I was just a little paranoid thats all.”

As gently as possible, Louis and Zayn wrap a hand around each of my shoulders, “Sweet heart, you know you have lie down. You aren’t allowed to move around.” Louis continues to coo in my ear as I am uncomfortably escorted back to my previous position.
