This Is Only The Beginning Part 1

Natalie Pov

After staying over Aaliyah's house I go straight home. When I get home I find Ray and Hazel fast asleep on the couch. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen. I try to sneak past them to get upstairs but Ray hears me.

"Natalie is that you?" Asks Ray

"Yeah it's me I didn't mean to wake you up. I'm guessing you and Hazel had a good time."

"Hazel and I stayed up all night watching her favorite Disney movies, Life Size, The Proud Family Movie. After awhile I lost track of time." Says Ray

"Aw I'm glad you guys had fun."

"So how is Aaliyah?" Asks Ray

"She's good especially since Jacob is starting to get it together. He really is something else."

" I Agee but he's not the only one." Says Ray

"What are you talking about?"

"I think you need to see a therapist. You can't keep leading me on. Either you want me or you don't. Lorenzo is gone but for how long. Pretty soon he will talk you into getting back with him. You can't think for yourself." Confesses Ray

"I didn't know that's how you really feel. I'm sorry if I hurt you. I do love you and everything you said is true. Everyone keeps saying it but I'm too dumb to believe it. I'm used to being treated awful. Lorenzo made me this way. He controlled me and used me. Then he broke me I'm still hurt. Not by all his lies but because he hit me. My baby had to see her mommy get smacked around by her father. She was hiding under her bed. Hazel was scared, and helpless. It's all my fault I was too weak to walk away."

"Yeah you are but it's okay we're gonna get through this. If I call a therapist will you go I will even come with you." Says Ray

"Yes I will just don't leave me please I need you."

'I'm not gonna leave you. Running away will only make things worse. You need someone to love you. That's why you keep searching for love in guys who don't give a shit about you. It's almost like you want to be with someone like that." Says Ray

"I did but I learned that real love isn't like that. Beating the shit out of someone isn't okay. I don't want Hazel to end up like me. She will go and date guys just like her father."

"Don't worry that is not going to happen. I'll make sure of it." Says Ray

He reaches over and hugs me. I don't know what I would do without him.

I agree to go see a therapist and we finally find the perfect one. I have an appointment next Thursday. 😐

Later on that day we all go out. The whole crew is here Cecilia, Craig, Nikki ,Chris,Jacob, Melanie, Mia, Ray and me. We're all chilling at Friendlys. It feels good for all us to hang out. I'm nervous to tell them about me seeing a shrink. They'll think I'm crazy. I finally work up the nerve and just say it.

"You guys I have a therapist."

"Finally I've been saying this since day one," says Chris.

Jacob starts to laugh and so does everyone else.

"Good it's about time,"says Nikki.

"Just know that we support you on anything you decide to do." Says Aaliyah.

"Thanks boo I could sure use the support." 😘

The waiter gets our food and we all stuff our faces like fat kids. Hazel looks over at me with the saddest face.

"What's wrong baby?"

"Mommy I want food too. Me don't want baby food." 😒 Says Hazel

"What do you mean you don't want baby food. You must be saying that because you see is eating." I had her some of my fries and crush it up so she doesn't choke on them. She smiles and eats her French fries.
