It had been two days since I got news of Cassidy's incident. In that time other interesting information rouse from the ground. With the news of Cassidy's assault came the news that the Light Jade were advancing on my home quickly. Their nearest establishment was only situated a hundred kilometres from my house. The organisation as a whole grew at a rapid speed. It was like any other business. They specialised in telecommunications and programming of security systems. Fascinating.

The thought of them closing in on my home took me to the brink of suffocation.

Then there was the worst news. Rumors flickered across national lines that the Light Jade had joined with the Black Guard in the ultimate quest. They plotted my demise. But as rumors couldn't always be trusted, I had planned to let Abney return to her father sooner than before.

Just one problem rose with that statement though...

Abney was still not speaking to either me or Shaé and frankly, we were too busy to care. We needed to care, but more urgent matters pressed us. But with the plans that changed, our attitude towards our little human needed to change as well.

She would go back to her father and try and sway him in our favor. He would listen, seeing as she is his only daughter and living family member. In short, she was his everything. If that did not work, we would either storm the compound or kidnap her again. But only this kidnapping would entail us demanding him to dismantle his entire organisation and swear loyalty to me and me alone, otherwise his precious little daughter would be killed.

Yes, this was the best plan we could come up with. I know, it seems bizarre as to how I got into running the world. I never thought I would live as long as I have, let alone run the Earth. Impending death does strange things to ones brain, I must say.

Abney sat across from me in the limousine, Shaè sat to Abney's right and the bullet proof tinted glass was up behind them. The tension grew thicker than whale fat. Shaé kept her gaze outside, her eyes darting from one giant tree to the next. Abney picked at her royal purple sequenced dress. Her heels were silver and laced up to her knee in a gladiator shoe type of way. Abney's hair was pulled back into a high ponytail, showing off her long supple neck.

I looked away, ashamed by my gaping. That's when my eyes moved to Shaé. The pale vampire looked stone cold where she sat. No pulse was visible, which was a normal thing, but she usually had a glow to her. Her blonde waves fell in locks onto her shoulders, framing her face perfectly. For once her nails were painted a bright pink with black stripes on them. Her lips were a new shade of pink, her upper lip more plump than the lower.

Such tender lips.

The dress she wore was a deep pink, coming to a stop two inches above her knee. Fish net stockings peeked at me as well with black stilettos. She was in club mode. A mode I haven't seen in her in a long time.

A wave of unease crashed upon the shores of my mind, which made me squirm in my seat. Both women looked up. They were close enough as to have both sets of eyes within my vision, but far enough away that I couldn't focus on both sets at the same time. So I kept my eyes in the middle. "So..." I breathed. "So." Abney huffed and folded her arms, a glare hardening her face.

"Oh little human. Just let it go. We're taking you out as a way to say sorry for pushing you away." Shaé hissed, already annoyed by the evening and the talk. "How can I just let it go when you have been nothing but cold to me since you took my fucking virginity?" Abney hissed back and dread filled me. "W-w-w-what?" I stammered out, my heart rate spiked.

Shame fell onto Abney's soft features. She looked down in a rush and tried covering her cheeks, but the pink stood out against her skin. "You never told us that..." Shaé answered for me, looking out the window again. Her voice was soft, sad if you will. "How old are you?" I asked, wondering if my Intel was correct. "I am 21." she answered, still looking down. "You never...?" I made an odd gesture, but knew she couldn't see. She replied anyway.

"Always thought I would give it to someone I was supposed to marry. Call me old fashioned. But you took me away from my home, showed me a new life that I loved far more than my old one... So I let my old life and old self slip away I guess." she ended and tossed her head to the side, now also staring out the window.

After that, the car was deathly silent until we stopped at Foreigner, the best restaurant in town. Our table was in the far back corner, with black chiffon hanging around it, making it as cozy and private as possible. Abney sat beside me with Shaé across from us. This was after all a night dedicated to Abney, a night to show we liked her as much as she liked us.

The waiter quickly came with their best bottle of red wine, not bothering to take our order. I had pre-booked the meal, to ensure the night went smooth. Abney sat rigid beside me, whilst Shaé draped herself artfully on her long leather covered booth. Her grey eyes peered at Abney from under her long lashes, but she was in no mood to speak. So I probed.

"Have your stay been lovely, beside us not treating you fairly?" I enquired, taking a long sip of wine. The liquid burnt my throat, but not as intensely as my fire. "It has been very pleasant. It is starting to feel more like home, if I must say." Abney looked at me, her eyes wistful and free. My stomach flipped. "Is everything to your liking?" I kept up the conversation. "Everything is perfect." Abney breezed, placing her hand over mine on the table. Shaé sat up straight at that and eyed Abney's lingering hand. Her gaze softened and she placed her hand on Abney's.

I could then finally see, that the war between us had finally settled and everything was back on track once more.
