a woman who i suspect is phil's mum comes bursting in.
"where's my son? i have to see him." there's tears in her eyes as she frantically speaks to the nurses' station.
"are you this dan that phil stayed with last night? that was the reason he almost died?"
"i am dan but your son would be dead if i hadn't given him mouth to mouth and called the ambulance, ma'am."
"never talk to my son again. do you hear me?"
i nod.
"i understand ma'am. it's my fault phil is here."
