Chapter 15: Oranges and Scary Movies

Start from the beginning

I wasn't sure what I was doing today so I decided to keep it casual. I wore a pair of light wash jeans that I rolled up into capri's. I did my dance into my jeans as usual. I slipped into a white tank top with an American flag on it and I topped it off with a red sweatshirt. My phone buzzed and I jumped out of my skin scared as heck.

'You have a text from: Drew Parker' my phone said on the screen. I opened the text that said 'be ready in a half an hour, ill be at your house by then.' Why was he coming over? I un-raveled my hair from the towel, threw it on the ground and walked to the bathroom to blow dry my hair. I let my hair lay right above my waist, not bothering to do anything special with it, then I applied mascara and eyeliner.

Yes I know, I'm the kind if girl who doesn't put much effort into her appearance.

"I'm leaving!" Trent shouted from downstairs, I trampled down the stairs as the usual cluts I am. "Bye," I kissed Trent on the cheek. I watched him walk out of the door, and Drew pulled in the drive way right after Trent pulled out, it seemed so weird how on time it was. "Hey," Drew said. "Hey so... Why did you come over?" I asked him. "I brought movies and popcorn," Drew said holding three DVD's in his hands. I laughed pulling him inside, I hopped on the couch bouncing up and down.

"So what did you bring?" I asked him interested into seeing what movies he brought. "The Purge, The host, and The Hangover," he said laying them out on the couch. "Most defiantly not The Hang Over, I've seen that movie so many times my brain would turn into mush if I saw it again," I told him. "The Purge it is!" Drew exclaimed. "But what if I want to see The Host?" I implied. "Too late," Drew said swiping all of the thee movies off the couch and inserting the movie into the DVD player. If his plan was to watch a scary movie to make me scared and jump in his arms well then it's not going to work. I might get scared but I'm not going to jump in his arms and give him that satisfaction.

Okay, I was seriously scared as hell. I kept jumping and wining. I literally almost went to Drew for comfort but I was going to stay committed to plan. "la la la la la la!" I said covering my ears and shutting my eyes tight till the scary scenes were over. "Ima go make some more popcorn," Drew retorted. "Fine, but come back quick," I said paranoid.

After the death scene was over I turned my head left and right for Drew, he was no where to be found, he was supposed to be making popcorn, where the heck did he go? I began to get really scared, I slowly got off the couch walking down up the stairs.

"Drew..." I said softly. But there was no answer, "Drew where are you?" I said even more softer than before. I began to get really paranoid. I finally reached the top of the stair case, I was about to turn the corner when... "Boo!" Drew shouted grabbing my waist. "Ahh!" I screamed till my little heart couldn't yell anymore. I was hyperventilating and my whole body began to shake in fear. "Gotcha!" Drew laughed like a 5 year old boy. "Damn you!" I yelled. "Just kidding!" Drew said still hollering and laughing, his face was practically red.

I went into my bed room laying on my bed and stuffed my face into my pillow. Gosh, he had his romantic moments but he was childish at times. "Hey I was only kidding," I heard Drew say as he walked in. I just groaned in reply. I could hear Drew walk over to the side of my bed. "Can I have a hug, cutie?" Drew asked me, my face was still stuffed in my pillow. I sat at up when I heard him call me a 'cutie'. "Is that my nickname now? 'Cutie'? What happened to shortcake?" I asked Drew. He rolled his eyes from left to right, "Can I have a hug, shortcake?" Drew asked me. "No," I flat out said walking out of my bedroom. "Wait why not?" Drew asked as he followed me down the stairs into the living room. "Because you scared the living crap out of me!" I retorted taking the movie out if the DVD player. "I'm really sorry," Drew pouted putting his hands into his pockets and shrugging his shoulders.

Gosh, he looked so cute when he did that. "Do you really really really want one?" I asked. "Yes I really do," he nodded. I groaned a little, "fine..." I agreed. I gave Drew one if my big bear hugs. Dang did he smell good! Being the total creep I was, I took a big huff of his cologne. He let go of me but I still held on to him tight, "no I'm not done yet," I said taking in as many breaths as I could of Drew. I hugged him tighter and worshiped every second I had of that hug. Then he finally let go and I wasn't going to make him hold me any longer.

His phone rang, Drew walked into another room answering his phone. Every time I hugged him I felt a whole new feeling, my skin tingled when it made contact with his.

Honestly though? I was scared that the old Drew would come back, and he would tease me and do every little thing to bother me. Wouldn't you if you were stuck in my situation? I'm stuck between two worlds here.

Before I could think further Drew came back in the room saying his good byes over the phone, then putting it in his pocket. I didn't want to seem rude but I was so curious as to what he was talking about over the phone so I raised my eye brows waiting for him to tell me. "Heather, uhm. Uh... Would you like to come with me to a Bon fire tonight?" He asked me seeming a little shy. "My friend just invited me over the phone and he said I could have a plus one," he continued to explain.

Wait. What the hell?

"Are you asking me out on a date?" I questioned him. What if it is a date? Should I say no? I mean it's not like I like Drew anyways... Right? Or should I say 'yolo' and say yes? Damn the boy stresses me out. "No, just as a friend," he continued speaking. "Oh, sure," I smiled at him. I didn't mind going with Drew as a friend. "Great," he smiled back revealing his cute dimples, "well I got to go, but ill see you tonight," he grinned once more heading out the door. "Wait! What time do I meet you there?" I hollered for him. "I'll pick you up at nine!" He shouted back. Oh, so he was picking me up now? Alrighty then.

I trotted up the stairs into my bed room, and began to over think everything. What if there's alcohol there? I don't want Drew to become a drunk ass mule and treat me like shit again.

Shut up Heather, Drew isn't as stupid as you think, my brain told me.

***

Drew wrapped his arm around me and began to walk up to the Bon fire, It kinda felt weird at first but at the same time I didn't want his arm to leave its spot. Everyone was sitting on logs roasting marshmallows.

My eyes scanned through every face that was there to see if I could recognize anyone till they fell on the face of Emma. Instantly, I stopped walking. I couldn't be here! Not with Emma here! My heart beating right through me chest, I could both hear it and feel it. Drew stood in front of me facing me holding my arms. "Hey are you okay? What's wrong?" Drew asked. "No. I'm not okay," I spoke slowly as if I was possessed.

This is going to be one hell of a night.
