I looked up to see the other driver stopping to the side, right across from me. I bit my lip and got out of my car, racing towards the other side.

"I am so, so sorry," I sighed, burying my head in my hands. "I wasn't keeping my eyes on the road."

"Isn't that right?"

I looked up right when the driver stepped out of the car. Skin-tight red dress, skyscraper Louboutins, and Barbie blond hair.

It was Nicky Hilton.

I bit my lip and shook my head. "Nicky."

"Hello Nina," she said, taking off her sunglasses. "You know, if you were that mad about Ian coming back, you shouldn't have swerved to the side. You were perfectly poised to kill me."

I shook my head. "I may hate you but I'm not the kind of person who kills other people," I said. "Even the ones who made my life a living hell."

"Well, just when I thought we couldn't be anymore different," she sighed. "Listen, I know it's hard for you right now-."

"Nicky, just save it," I sighed. "You got what you wanted. Can you please just leave me alone?"

"Nina, I'm not finished with you yet," she said. "As long as you keep appearing out of nowhere, Ian's still going to keep his eyes on you. I can't have that."

"So what, are you planning on killing me?" I asked. "Because you could have done that earlier too."

"You don't get it, do you?" she asked. "Nina, Ian is never going to be as in love with me as much as he is with you. I want you to tell him that you no longer love him that way."

"Don't you think I already did that?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest. "Because I did. Which is exactly why he left me in Canada."

"I thought he left you for me?" she said.

I swallowed hard. "Well, that's how all hell broke loose," I said. "They were all these small things that eventually ended up reminding him of you. He told me that no matter how hard things got, you were always there to tell him he could do it. He told me that you were the best part of his life before I came in and ruined everything. He told me that if he could, he would rewind and go back to the time when you  were the world to him. So I told him I didn't love him anymore."

She seemed to believe this, considering that even I could hear it being true. "What a fairytale ending that must have been," she said.

"Just like the ones in books," I said. I shrugged and said, "Nicky, what else do you want? What else is it going to take for you to leave me alone? You have him already."

"True," she said, walking towards me. "Nina, you see, I'm just not so sure I approve of having you and him paired up for Clive's wedding."

"You and I both know it's not up to me," I said. "Clive wanted that."

"Well, how about this," she said. "Call Clive. Tell him I want to be Ian's partner for the entourage. Tell him that you can still be the Maid of Honor, but they'll just have to find another partner for you."

"You're really going to ruin a lovely couple's wedding just so I wouldn't have time with Ian?" I asked. "Nicky, come on. It's not about the three of us during that wedding. It's about them."

"Nina," she sighed. "You're the Maid of Honor, surely you can tell him to move some things around. Because you should know that it doesn't feel right to have your man with another woman, especially during public events."

That was a low blow.

"Well, I do," I said. "Because that's how I used to feel with you."

"So, you understand how crappy it is, right?" she said, looking at me patronizingly.
