Often when the seas got really rough and storms started brewing in the distance, Percy saw this as a sign that his dad was in an extremely bad mood. The current was too strong for him to barely even calm down, so there wasn't much that he could do. Except, of course, to talk and pray to his dad.

Dad, he prayed silently, please stop. What if there are boats or ships carrying innocent lives on them? Please Dad, stop. Their lives matter. Do it for me and for them.

Immediately, the sky cleared and the seas calmed. Poseidon almost always responded to Percy whenever he prayed or spoke to him, and this was no exception. Percy was Poseidon's favorite son, and it was obvious he loved Percy a lot and listened to him more than most gods or goddesses did with their children.

Percy smiled. Thanks, Dad.

He felt a soft breeze pick up and in the back of Percy's mind, he could hear the faintest of replies:

No, thank you, son.
