So, you're gay?

I'm transgender.
I let you in.
You look at me in confusion.
You don't understand.
"So, you're gay?"
No, I'm not gay. I'm a boy.
The feelings, the emotions, the life and love.
Everything that comes with being trans,
I have that.
Dysphoria, hatred, anxiety.
I live that.
Pity, discomfort, misunderstanding.
I breathe that.
I tell you who I am and you don't understand.
"We get it. You're gay."
No, I'm not.
I'm a boy.
I'm not gay.
It isn't a hard concept,
Yet you continue to misunderstand.
You continue to reject me.
You continue to push me away,
Because I try to tell you.
I am a boy.
A boy with a stereotypically female body, yes,
But still a boy.
No one can change that.
Not even me.
I'm not gay.
I'm a boy.
