Peridot clinked bottles with Lars and drank half a beer, while he chugged it down.

Lars: Nice party, man.

Peridot: it's all worth it.

Lars: Man, you really love this girl.

Peridot: She is an angel...

Lars laughed and walked away to go get some food from a table.

Steven: Hey, Peridot. How ya doin?

Peridot looked down at Steven.

Peridot: I'm.... I'm alright.

Steven held a concerned look on his face.

Steven: you don't seem like it..

Peridot sucked her teeth and looked at Steven.

Peridot: I'm really anxious to marry her.

Steven grabbed Peridot's hand.

Steven: I would be excited too, and she must be thrilled also, but it's alright. Tomorrow is the wedding. You will have fun.

Peridot whimpered.

She sat down on her knees, pretending Lapis was the ocean.

She cupped her hand in the cold, December water, and let it go.

Peridot didn't hear someone walking to her, they heard every word.

She heard a girl crying and stood to turn around to see that it was Lapis.

Lapis ran into her arms and hugged her deeply.

Peridot: Lapis, I-!

Lapis was sobbing on her shoulder.

Lapis Lazuli: I...I love you, too. You mean the whole universe to me..!
