Chapter 29 - Killer Instinct

"Shut up Noah"

"What about Arii? I mean not like this isn't a good thing but..."

"This isn't anything. I'm with Arii and I'm going to make her happy..."

"Yeah but there's a but coming and a big one might I add" Noah replied,

"No there isn't..." Tayte said looking at me, I carefully got up and walked off, "Keane...Keane"

"You hurt my sister then I'll kill you, but if you dare hurt my older brother, there's no way you'll see any of us ever again okay" Noah said to Tayte sternly and then followed me. The car journey was silent, I was sat in the front and could feel the tension in the car.

Tayte's POV

What the fuck did I just do? Did I honestly go through with it and kiss him, holy shit. I've gone and ruined the best friendship anyone could ever ask for.

This story just took a turn for the worst, I bet no one was expecting that. Arii snuggled up next to me and I saw Noah glare,

"Nearly through it all baby, nearly through it" I told her,

"If you're lying, I won't be impressed" She said, I half smiled,

"Once we're in Church bay you can forget everything"

"Don't bullshit" Noah said,

"I'm not" I answered,

"Don't make fake promises" Noah snapped,

"What's going on between you two?" She asked,

"Yeah guys, quit it please" Keane said,

"Keane I was..." Noah began,

"I know, but just leave it for now" He interrupted.

"What's going on?" Arii asked, "Why am I always left in the dark?"

"Trust me on this one, you'll want to be" Noah said.

It turned out that we weren't at the station too long, well, 3 and a half hours later we were getting into a squad car and being taken to Church Bay. Keane hadn't spoken to me, neither had Noah, he'd been at Keane's side the whole time, giving me death glares, he did get a few whacks from Keane too, which made me feel a little better. I hated the awkwardness between us, it's never happened before and I hope it never happens again!

"How are you feeling now Keane?" I asked,

"Like I need to sleep" he answered, which was something,

"We should reach Church Bay in less than an hour, I'll whack my sirens on"

"Thank you" Noah said, "You've just fulfilled a dream"

"You wanted to ride in a police car with the sirens going?" Arii asked,

"Sure did" He answered.

"You're something else" I said,

"Yeah and so are you" He said, but it wasn't in a jokey way.

I know what I did was stupid, I've probably messed with Keane's head, we've always been so close that people probably think we're gay anyway. I mean for Christ sake we sleep with each other all the time. I think I always knew that what we had was more than we both thought. The thing is though, I do love him...but I love Arii and I can't hurt her, not after everything we've been through and...yes okay Keane's been through more and he's kept going and he's kept the family together and even though he always felt like giving up he didn't and I am so fucking screwed! I noticed that Keane's phone rang, his face told me who it was.
