Chapter 3 - Are you being serious?

Keane's POV

I awoke at 4pm,

"Ergh...what time is it?" I muttered, slowly sitting up,

"4 in the afternoon"

"Great...looks like I won't be sleeping later on"

"I'm sure Angelo will give you something"

"Is Arii back?"

"No, not yet, she text half hour ago saying she wasn't ready to come home and that they were going to the cinema"

"She's okay though?"

"She's fine Keane, relax"

"Where's Noah and Angelo?"

"We're in here cooking you food" Noah called,

"'I'm not hungry" I called back,

"I knew you'd say that, tough shit you're eating"

"Well, you've been told" Tayte said, I smiled,

"Sure have" I sat up and swung my legs in front of me,

"Where do you think you're going?" Tayte asked,

"To the toilet" I said, grabbing my crutches and heading out.

The fact that they are walking on egg shells around me, is really annoying. I said I'm fine, which of course is a half truth. But they're just going to have to trust me. Because they'd honestly know when I wasn't okay.

My whole body ached, but I wasn't in a considerable amount of pain, just fucked off that my leg's recovery time was now pushed back. I came back into the sitting room as Noah walked in with a plate of what I hoped, if anything was one of Angelo's cheese toasties.

"Is that what I think it is?" I asked, sitting next to Tayte,

"Sure is" Angelo hollered, I smiled,

"Well, maybe I am hungry after all"

After demolishing the toasty and a glass of OJ with some of the many tablets I am taking for everything that was wrong with me. I'd decided I needed some fresh air, before I even moved Tayte said,

"Where are you going?"

"Jeez, I haven't even moved yet"

"I knew you were about to" He said smiling,

"For a walk, coming?"

"Of course I'm coming with you"

"I'm not going to mention it to Noah"

"Him and Angelo are upstairs so..."

"Okay, I get it...thanks" I smiled; there was no need to elaborate.

There was a cool late afternoon breeze, which helped me relax, I took a deep breath as Tayte and I headed on down the road near the beach.
