Chapter 28 - Coming As One

The next morning came and it came too soon. No one wanted to move, no one wanted to get out of bed. So I played the responsible one and did exactly that, get everyone and myself out of bed. The most difficult person being Keane and literally 10 minutes before 'if we didn't leave we'd be pushing it very close to making the flight', Keane got up. Don't even go there, thankfully I'd done everything such as pack, passports, money etc. All he had to do was get dressed. It was painful to say the least, even more now he has his leg in a cast and is on crutches otherwise he can't walk!

Needless to say, we made it to the airport and after a long goodbye to Angelo, we headed in, where Keane had found himself a wheelchair. Honestly it could have been Noah in it, the way he was wheeling himself around like some lunatic on ecstasy!

"Keane, don't make me fight you"

"Why not? You know you'll lose" He teased winking at me, I smiled,

"Yeah Tayte, you'll lose" Noah added,

"Alright gang up on me" I laughed,

"Brothers unite" they both said together,

"The gates are open, come on. Why if we have first class tickets are we going in with everyone else?" Arii said,

"Whoa calm down your royal highness" Keane said,

"Who made you the Queen?" Noah asked, she looked at me to back her up,

"No can do baby, that was cutting," she pouted and picked up her bag and walked off,

"Some boyfriend you are, if I didn't love you I'd probably beat you up" Keane said,

"Come on" I smiled, Noah grabbed his bag and raced off after Arii, I picked up Keane and my shared one and his crutches,

"Race you" Keane said and shot off. I just shook my head in amusement. I was just happy that everyone was smiling!

We were seated all together in first class, Keane already had already positioned his leg up and lying out in front with his eyes shut,

"I think Keane's sugar rush has ended" I said, Noah laughed,

"Shut up" He said, but I could see him smile,

Safe to say that the journey began quietly, everyone had calmed down, but Keane's quietness had me worried. I hoped he was feeling okay, because knowing him, he'd just sit there and suffer in pain. I didn't want to make him angry by asking him how he was. I didn't have to though, as Arii, who was still being miserable got up and went over to him.

"How are you doing? Don't bite my head off, I was just asking, because I'm feeling kind of low,"

Keane's POV

I took my headphones out and she came and sat carefully on me,

"What's bothering you?"

"I don't think I can be positive anymore"

"Now those are words I thought would never come out of your mouth"

"I mean it"

"Is this because when you stayed at Lyric's you saw how her family was stable and loving and thought how truly messed up yours was, with a fucked up brother and missing parents and being on the run and hiding and wondering if you're ever going to be safe" I said, that made her half smile,

"Yes, but not exactly how you put it," I wrapped my arms around her,

"Arii, you can breakdown, you can cry, shout, run around like you've lost your mind, beat up Tayte"
