A New Beginning

.:Ruby's pov:.

It was Friday, game time. I was super excited since it was my first game as a varsity player. I was in my jersey, #22. I looked up into the stands to see Sapphire, Rose, and Greg cheering for us. They all had shirts with "Lovett #22" on the back. We ended up winning the game to our school's delight. After the game, and after I got dressed and took a shower in the locker room, sapph ran to me and hugged me. "Omg, you were on fire today! You totally deserve to stay in varsity!!" She told me. I smiled "Thanks" I told her. "Yeah I'm with Sapphire." Said greg. He was standing next to Rose holding hands. "Did you see our shirts!!??" Rose said with a big smile turning around to show the "Lovett #22" on the back. I smiled "yeah they are super cool...thanks guys for coming out to support the game." I said. They all told me no problem. We said our goodbyes and we went home. I got ready for bed and I texted sapphire.

R: "hey, the dance is from 8-12 so I'll pick you up around 7:40 okay?"

S: "Okay see you then love❤"

I smiled and went to bed. I couldn't wait till tomorrow.

.:The Next Morning:.

I woke up and I got ready. I was wearing a white button up shirt with a red bowtie, black vest, black pants, and my red high top converse. My mom was so jittery. She was running around taking millions of pictures. Before we knew it my mom was driving me to Sapphire's house to pick her up. I was so nervous I started sweating bit. My mom smiled and wiped my brow for me. We knocked on Sapphire's door. A couple of seconds later a tall woman stood at the door she smiled at my mother and I. "Hello, you must be Ruby" She said smiling at me. "Yes ma'am." I replied. She smiled "so polite, please come in." She said making room for my mother and I to walk in. They had a very nice house and there was a stair case right by the door. My mother started having a conversation with Sapphire's mother and I saw a man walk up to me. He looked down at me. I started sweating again. "Hello,ruby right? You keep my daughter safe you hear?" He said with a kinda scary vocie and I nodded "y-yes sir..." I gulped. "Sapphire! Sweetheart, Ruby is here! I don't want y'all to be late!" Her mother called up the stairs. "Coming!" I heard her say and she walked down the stair case. She was so beautiful! Her golden locks were curled and in it was a silver headband. She had a long blue dress with blue high heels to match and a blue purse which she carried. I was in awe. "I'm ready" She said walking up to me. I smiled "y-you look amazing." I said. She giggled. We took several pictures in several different poses. After a bit sapphire said goodbye to her parents and we both sat in the back holding hands. My mom dropped us off and we walked in. It was beautiful. There were stars all around on the walls of the gym and there were lights hanging from above. We met up with  Greg and Rose and we danced all night. We did line dances like "the wobble" and danced to almost every song that played. We had a good time. Then "thinking out loud by Ed sheeran" played. Everyone started slow dancing and of course since we were a couple, we dance as well. I had my hands on Sapphire's hips and her arms were draped around my neck. I began singing along to the song as did she. I looked over to Greg and Rose who were kissing. I thought about it and I really wanted to make a move. We danced some more and I put my forehead to hers. We stayed like that for a while before I pulled back and looked at her eyes, or should I say bangs, and we both leaned in and kissed. It felt AMAZING! Her lips were so soft and she tasted of a cool mint. After what felt like forever, we pulled apart just as the song ended. My checks felt super warm although it was dark I could tell she was blushing too. We both got very giggley after that. She laid her head on my shoulder and I smiled. I looked over to Greg and Rose who were giving me thumbs up. I blushed more and leaned my head on Sapphire's. The rest of the night we stayed together and it was wonderful. When I was walking her to her door at midnight, we stopped at her door and she looked at me. "Thank you...I had a great time." She said. I smiled "your welcome and I'm glad." I said. I was about to turn around when she kissed me again. We both blushed. "W-well good night....see you Monday." She said while going inside. "O-okay.....bye...love you.." I said and I probably turned so red that it showed from my dark skin. She giggled as she closed the door and I ran to sit in the passenger side of the car. My mom smiled at me. "My baby got her first kiss!!" She said smiling wide. "A-actully.....my second..." I said "we kissed at the dance too." I said and my mom started ranting about how I'm growing up and how proud of me she it. Tonight has to be the best day of my 14 year old life.
