A New Beginning

Once I got home I ran straight to my room. "Hey ruby I'm going to make enchiladas for dinner, that sound good?" My mom called as I ran up the stairs. "Yeah! Sounds good good to me, I'll be in my room" I said back. Once in my room I threw my backpack on my desk chair and plopped on my bed. I grabbed my phone from my back pocket and texted Greg.

R: "Hey guess what"
G: "what???"
R: "I got Sapphire's #"
G: "omg really!!??"
R: "yeah I'm going to text her now....I'll tell ya how it goes...wish me luck! "
G: "I will...get it girl!!"
R: "lol okay"

I smiled then went to Sapphire's contact

R: "Hey its ruby...I just wanted to see of you would like to text??"

Omg I hope I don't sound lame "Ruby!! Dinner is ready!!" I heard my mom call "Alright I'll be there in a minute!! I put my phone in my back pocket and went down the stairs. I sat down and we ate in silence. "It's a little awkward with out your dad isn't it??" My mom asked. I nodded. My dad died from a car accident when i was 10 while he was on his way to see my basketball game. I snapped out of it when my phone buzzed. I smiled. "What are you smiling about??" She asked "Oh nothing......just a girl I met.." my mom's face lit up. She supported me since I came out about how I like girls. "Omg really!!! Is she pretty!? I bet she is!!" My mom siroursly always got super jittery when I talked about some one I like. "Heh yeah....she is...I think she might be the one though...she is super nice..and - and I just have this feeling you know?" I said. "I know how you feel...I had the same feeling when I met your dad....you can go if your done..I can clean up here...go for it, text her" My mom said I smiled and kissed her cheek. "Thanks mom!!" I said as I dashed up to my room and onto my bed.

S: "hey, yeah I'm board..so what are you up to??"
R: "nothing really. I just ate dinner, what about you?"
S: "same, I'm just working on my submission papers for student council and NHS."
R: "wow..your really smart, I'm sure you'll make it"
R
S: "your so sweet! Thank you!"
R: "your very welcome. But it's the truth"

We talked like it's for hours. Eventually we had to say goodnight to one another. I think from here we can more than just friends.
