"I can't" I said,
"You can Keane. This is already a start, you saying you don't want it", I felt a small prick as Tayte eased in a small amount of morphine, "You can"
We hoped off the bus with a load of other tourists, who had backpacks and cameras and booklets a plenty, it did make me laugh. We stayed with the group of them as we first headed off after we were told what time the last bus would be running and where to pick it up, we were handed a map with 'You are here' and then 'Bus stop here' on.
Arii wanted to visit Nelson Mandela's house and I thought, it was a good idea. He was such an inspirational man; it would be good to see the house he grew up in. So that was our first stop.
"I want one of these" Arii said, we were walking down a street where people were selling everything on market stalls, on rugs, on the pavement. I could tell she was like a kid at the candy shop. The looks some were giving her though was making my overprotective brother instinct kick in.
"Angelo we have to get this" Noah said, showing him a giraffe made from cans of fizzy drinks. It did look really cool.
"And do what with it?"
"I don't know. But it's so awesome and he made it himself, please"
After browsing the street stalls for half an hour we left with a few bracelets that we all put on, Arii got Lyric and Macy a little elephant, carved from stone and Noah got his Giraffe. We were heading down the road and onto Nelson Mandela's house. It was hot, more hot than usual, I felt like I was burning up. I stopped walking, my forehead caked in sweat,
"You okay?" Tayte said, walking back over to me,
"Yeah, just hot is all,"
"Here" he handed me a bottle of water, I took it,
"Thanks," I took a few sips; he was still watching me, "Don't start Tayte"
"Start what?"
Mandela's house was smaller than I imagined. We were in and had looked around within half hour. I'd drank 3 bottles of water, with the fourth I started a water fight much to Noah's dismay, since he was the one I soaked,
"Keane you are so dead" since I couldn't actually run, I'd already dug my own grave. "You know you can't run away from me"
"I can try" I retorted. I wasn't paying attention, so therefore I wasn't aware of the van hurtling towards me. The van was aware though, because the driver of the van was an agent, an agent with only one thing on his mind, to hit the target and I was the target!
"KEANE" Arii screamed, I span around and saw the van and the smile on the fuckers face, I dived out of the way, literally just in the nick of time, colliding with the pavement. Oh lord above!
"Keane"
"Oh my God, is he okay?"
"Did you just see what happened?"
"Someone get help"
"Don't move buddy okay" Tayte's voice finally came into my hearing, "Angelo's checking you over"
"I'm fine, honest; I wouldn't waste your time"
"You don't look fine and I'm sick of this. Your letting Angelo make sure you're alright, you could have broken something"
"Tayte, I'm serious, I'm fine" I sat up then, despite protests, I noticed a crowd around us, then I felt the pain, it wasn't like a crazy pain I'm going to collapse, but it was the type of pain telling you that you'd done something stupid,
