That night, I got a text from Frank.

Frank: "Are you awake?"

Gee: "Yes. Hi Frankie."

Frank: "Hi."

Gee: "What's up? Everything okay?"

Frank: "I don't know. I'm a little lonely."

Gee: "I know, Frankie. I'll try to see if I can come by some time tonight."

Frank: "No, you don't have to."

I sighed.

Gee: "Try to go to sleep, Frank."

Frank: "Goodnight, Gerard."

Gee: "Goodnight, Frankie."

I put my phone down. I wanted to go see him. I wanted him back here. Frank was lonely and I can fix that.

Well, Frank was probably sleeping. I closed my eyes and soon I was asleep.

I woke up to taps on my window. I looked to see what it was.

"Gerard?"

"Frank? What are you doing here?"

"Can I come in? I'm scared."

"Yeah, around the front."

Frank went to the front door. I went downstairs and quietly opened the door and let him in. We went up to my room.

"What happened? Why are you so scared? Frankie, you're shaking!"

"There-There were these guys and they were drunk- well, I think they were. Gerard, they were all around the house. I didn't know what to do!"

"Shhh, Frankie. You're okay. I'm not gonna let them hurt you."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

He hugged me tightly, refusing to let go.

"Stay here tonight."

"No- I have to go back."

"You don't have to."

"What about your mom?"

"She'll be gone in the morning."

"But what if she comes up here and sees me in bed with you- like Mikey did?"

"Frankie, you're worrying too much. Relax. You're here with me now. No ones gonna find out about you." I laid him down and laid next to him.

"I feel so safe with you..."

I smiled. "Do you?"

He nodded. "I feel like you were always there."

"That's what friends do. They're there for others."

Frank moved closer to me. "No one said you had to be, though."

"Do you not want me around?"

"No- no! I want you to stay!"

"You've never had anyone in your life until now. I want to protect you from anything that could possibly harm you."

"You can't protect me from everything though."

"Well... No. But I can certainly try."

He put his hand on my chest, drawing tiny circles on it.

"You should go to sleep." I said.

"You too. Goodnight, Gerard."

"Goodnight, Frank."
