That night, Frank had to go back to the abandoned house. Or he said he had to. I told him Mikey might come back and he insisted that he went back. So, I let him go back. I walked him back.

I laid in my bed tonight and thought about Frank. I lent him some pajamas as well. It was a short sleeve shirt and a pair of silk shorts. Someone had bought them for me and I never wore them. They were nice on Frank though. He liked them.

I started thinking about how he might be feeling.

What if he was lonely again?

What if he was cold?

What if he missed me?

What if he needs me?

I debated on going to see him and finally decided yes.

I put my shoes on and walked downstairs. I opened the front door and saw Mikey standing outside it about to reach for the handle.

"Oh- hey Gee. Where're you going?"

"For a walk. I'll be back."

I walked down the street and looked back at the house. Mikey had gone inside. I started running to the abandoned house.

I heard crying.

I walked in and went upstairs. "Frank?"

He looked over at me, got up and moved toward me fast, hugging me.

"What's wrong?" I asked him, stroking his hair.

"I'm so lonely!" He sniffed.

"Shhh, it's okay. You're alright."

He whined and buried his face in my neck.

"Come back to my house."

"But your brother-"

"I'll sneak you in. Mikey doesn't have to know about you yet."

Frank agreed to come back home with me. I wrapped my arms around his trembling body. I opened the front door and both Frank and I ran upstairs to my room.

Mikey opened his bedroom door. "Gee?"

Frank, who was already in my room ran into my opened closet and hid in the corner.

I was standing in the hallway. "Yeah- it's me."

"I thought you'd be out later. You always take long walks."

"I had to cut it short. It's a little cold tonight."

"Alright. Well, I'm going to bed. Good night, Gerard."

"Night." I went inside my room.

"Frank, it's okay. You can come out now."

He moved out of my closet and stood up. I walked him over to the bed, he laid down under the covers and looked up at me.

"Will you sing to me again?"

I thought about a song to sing to him. What would be a good song to express what I feel and to sing him to sleep to?

"Where, where will you stand
When all the lights go out
Across these city streets?
Where were you when
All of the embers fell?
I still remember them
Covered in ash
Covered in glass
Covered in all my friends
I still think of the bombs they build

If there's a place that I could be
Then I'd be another memory
Can I be the only hope for you?
Because you're the only hope for me
And if we can't find where we belong
We'll have to make it on our own
Face all the pain and take it on
Because the only hope for me is you alone

How would you be
Many years after the disasters
That we've seen
What if we learned
Of all the people burning
Purifying flame
I'll say it's okay
I know you can tell
And though you can see me smile
I still think of the guns they sell

If there's a place that I could be
Then I'd be another memory
Can I be the only hope for you?
Because you're the only hope for me
And if we can't find where we belong
We'll have to make it on our own
Face all the pain and take it on
Because the only hope for me is you alone

The only hope for me
The only hope for me is you
The only hope for me is you
The only hope for me is you
The only hope for me is you
The only hope

If there's a place that I could be
Then I'd be another memory
Can I be the only hope for you?
Because you're the only hope for me
And if we can't find where we belong
We'll have to make it on our own
Face all the pain and take it on
Because the only hope for me is you alone
The only hope for me is you alone."

His eyes were closed.

His breathing slowed down.

He was indeed asleep.
