Toby narrates
I don't wanna see Masky again or talk to him.
Well, it's not that i don't want to, i can't...
My face turnes red with embarrassment. I can't stop thinking in that moment, his face so close to mine, his hand grabbing my face with some force... although that didn't upset me...
And the worst thing is every time i try to sleep i can only think in that, it's annoying!
Fucking Tim, you got me by surprise.
I spent the whole day avoiding him or Hoodie, keeping myself busy doing chores, CHORES.
I've been cleaning—the best i could—this grimy cabin. Took out the stinking trash that had been piling up for weeks because none of the three of us cared. Walked through the whole forest checking on the notes.
I even started cutting down trees and collecting firewood for the winter!
Although the day wasn't hot, all that work was making me sweat, so I took off my gloves, hoodie, and sweater. I kept cutting down trees in a tank top.
Spending so many hours moving and sweating with the goggles on was starting to bother me, so i threw them on the grass and kept working.
—Woah, you look sexy sweaty and cutting down trees.
—Ha ha, very funny—i answered turning to Hoodie, who brought me a beer.
—Thirsty?
—I don't like beer—i san in one of the logs, i was exhausted.
—You and Masky are really weird—he said and opened the can.
—Masky?
—You've been doing things the whole day, that's nothing like you because you are lazy.
—Got it...
—And Masky, well i'm surprised, years before he would've pushed you to the wolves without even thinking and now...
He looked at me like trying to decipher something he doesn't understand.
—He cares about you.
Hoodie's intimidating stare, which was probably seeking some kind of confession from me, was making me nervous. My only response was to act indifferent.
—He just doesn't bully me that much—i joked and got up, trying to finish this conversation—. Alright, gotta finish this.
—It's funny, you've been running around all day and he hasn't left his room.
—So? —i turned to him, i tried to control my expression but i was already pissed.
What's he trynna say? Is he hinting at something?
—Why such an abrupt reaction? —he laughed and dented his can.
—Why don't you tell me what you're thinking for once?
—I just find it funny.
—What's funny? —i really don't wanna look angry but he is driving me crazy.
—That we are like a family...
What?
—You are the submissive mom doing the chores and Masky is the emo teenager who doesn't get out of his room. That would make me the father, right? —his attitude went from intimidating to silly.
My face must be absurd since he giggled.
—Well maybe i'd rather be the teenager, since i'd like to procrastinate from time to time. That would make Masky the alcoholic father and you the mother, since you are the closest thing to a girl in the cabin—he kept laughing.
