So! As tempting as it sounds, I would never be a captain. No thanks! I'd rather do my thing and enjoy my life than take all the control over everything.
"Spitfire is doing great job of a captain. Why would we replace her?" Blaze glanced at Lightning Dust.
"To give someone else the chance. She's not the only one who wants to be a captain."
"Okay, we can maybe vote for a new captain if most of you agree. But I must say, Spitfire is really amazing at her job." coach agreed with Blaze.
Spitfire just nodded, not bothered by Dust's comment. She's not the type of person who's gonna be bothered by others and that's what makes her a great captain. You need to have an attitude and strict personality.
"We'll talk about that later. Let's start training now! Three laps around the field! COME ON!" coach blew the whistle when we started to run.

That was exhausting. I can't wait to get home and get rid of smell of the sweat from this training. I can't wait to smell like coconut and vanilla again.
I was putting my stuff away, separating sweaty T-shirt in a different bag so I can bring it home to wash it.
Surprise was sitting on a bench, drinking her water, still trying to catch her breath. High Wind tied her hair in a ponytail, while Fleetfoot was tying her shoelaces.
"So you don't agree with me?" Lightning Dust questioned Blaze.
"I'm just saying. Why are you suddenly interested in being a team captain?"
"I was interested from the start! Coach didn't even want to give me a chance, ever since Spitfire became the captain."
"You never asked him. Only when we were freshmen."
"Well we're seniors now. I think some things should change." she stated, closing her locker loudly.
"Oh really?" Spitfire leaned against one locker, crossing her arms.
"You're doing a good job, I just think you should give a chance to someone else."
"We're maybe a good team, but that doesn't mean we're perfect. Do you know how hard it is to be the captain?"
That was my point. That's why I never wanted to be a captain.
"It doesn't seem that hard to me. Plus, I think I'm capable of being the leader."
"That's what you think, but I'm telling you from my experience. You don't have all the qualities to be the leader."
"Oh so now you're offending me huh?! Well you're not perfect either!"
"I'm not trying to offend you and I didn't say I was perfect, but you and I are different. We're not the same."
"Okay, why don't you wait to see what coach has to say about this." Blaze interfered.
"Fine! We'll wait, but I'm sure coach will give someone new a chance. You're not the only one who can lead this time."
"Whatever you say..." Spitfire raised her hands in the air and went over to her locker to take her backpack.
She could keep going. She could continue the conversation, but she sees how Lightning Dust is and she doesn't wanna argue with a person like her.
Lightning Dust is a reckless, only thinking about herself and her wishes. Sure, she's competitive and all, but that's not enough. And I'm pretty sure others would agree with me and my opinion.
"I'll see you girls tomorrow!" I waved at them on my way out.
"See you Dash!" Surprise waved back at me.
"See ya!" Fleetfoot nodded.
I took out my headphones and immediately played some music on my phone. That way I don't have to complain in my head about how long it will take me to arrive home.
Although I really wish I came here with my car instead. But nooo, I wanted to take a walk, it's better for me! Great job Rainbow, great job...
Good thing is that I have a driver's license. Imagine not knowing how to drive and begging others to drive you around. Nahh, not for me!
All of a sudden, I felt someone tapping me on my shoulder. I turned around, as I was taking my headphones off, only to see Soarin standing behind me.
"Hey, what's up?" I glanced at him a bit confused and surprised.
"Just wanted to give you back your pendant. I wasn't sure if it was yours, but you're the only person around, so I thought..."
I looked down at his hand, only to see my blue guitar pendant.
"Oh, yeah, that's mine! Thanks! I should fix it, considering that this is the 5th time someone has given it back to me..." I laughed awkwardly as I took my pendant from him.
"Looks like one part of it is missing. You should check it, otherwise you might not get it back next time." his lips curved into a small smile.
"Yeah... Thanks again!"
"Are you going home?" he asked out of blue.
"Uhh yeah, I am." I looked at him confused.
"You need a ride?"
"Oh no need, I'll take a walk."
"You sure? Today's training was tough and it's really hot outside."
"I'm sure yeah... Don't worry about me!" I scratched the back of my head, trying to cover my exhaustion with a smile.
"If you say so... It's not a problem to give you a ride really."
"It's fine. I'd rather walk to clear my head a bit."
"Respect that, that's actually way better than driving after training. Oh well... I guess I'll see you tomorrow." he waved at me as he turned around to go to his car.
"Yeah... See you..."
I stood there for a moment, looking at him as he was going towards his car. He now had blue T-shirt with logo of our school. Just like the white T-shirt from earlier, this one fit him as good.
Except now I could see his back, which I could tell was well built. I didn't notice how tall he really is, until he stood in front of me now. I guess that wasn't something that caught my attention so much when we first met.
But I can tell that he's taller than me for a whole head. Oh well, I guess they were right about him being the best basketball player. I haven't seen him playing basketball, but I can sure tell he did.
Snap out of it Rainbow! You should get home and try to fix your pendant. Soarin is right about one thing. If I lose it again, I might not get it back.
I shook my head, exhaled and put my headphones back on, as I began to walk home.
