Chapter 30: 2 More Ceremonies to Go

“Haldi Hai aur Sangeet Bhi!”

---

Scene 1: Morning – Haldi Ceremony

Location: Verma House Lawn
Yellow marigolds, mango leaves, and white drapes danced in the breeze. Brass pots with rose petals lined the stage. It looked like sunshine had descended just for them.

Gunjan's Entry:She entered in a sun-kissed yellow crop top with playful tassels, a white dhoti, and an embroidered sheer shrug flowing with the wind

Gunjan's Entry:
She entered in a sun-kissed yellow crop top with playful tassels, a white dhoti, and an embroidered sheer shrug flowing with the wind. Her hair was braided with fresh mogra and yellow daisies. Barefoot and glowing, she looked like the goddess of joy.

Raj's Look:
Dressed in a white kurta with yellow mirror-work Nehru jacket, he waited on stage nervously — knowing fully well that this wasn’t going to be a simple ritual.

Gunjan (grinning):
"So ready to be dyed in yellow, Mr. Verma?"

Raj (smirking):
"As long as it's by you, Dr. Sinha."

---

Haldi Begins... and Ends in Holi!

With dhols beating, aunties starting the rituals, it began civilly. Haldi was applied gently… until Dhruv dumped a full bowl on Raj’s head.

Gunjan gasped — and the war began.

Haldi flew.

Petals rained.

Tubs full of haldi joined.

It turned into HOLI!

Gunjan chased Raj with haldi in her hands, but he caught her instead — lifting her as she shrieked and laughed uncontrollably. They both were dripping yellow, faces glowing, love in full bloom.

Mayur (to camera):
"Shaadi hai ya Phoolon ki Holi ka world record?"

---

Scene 2: Evening – Sangeet Night

The chaos of haldi gave way to shimmering lights. The lawn was transformed into a royal open ballroom. Chandeliers hung low, fairy lights shimmered over navy blue and silver drapes.

Outfits Worth a Movie Poster

Gunjan’s Look:
She entered like royalty — in a navy blue pre-draped saree, netted and beaded with shimmering stones. The beaded pallu sparkled under the lights, and her curls were loosely tied with silver pins.

Raj’s Look:
He matched her perfectly in a navy blue tailored suit, silver pocket square and sleek gelled hair. When he saw her walking in — everything else blurred.

Raj (to himself):
"God really made her just for me."

---

The Performances Begin...

Nayan & Dhruv set the stage on fire with a peppy duet.

Mayur danced solo, mixing bhangra and breakdance (don’t ask how — he made it work).

Then came the emotional surprise — Gunjan danced for Raj on “Raabta”.
Her expressions, movements, and gaze pierced Raj’s soul.

Gunjan (voice-over style while dancing):
"We were written in the stars, in shadows and sparks, in haldi and heartbreaks — and tonight, I dance for the man who brought me home."

---

Raj’s Turn

He came up, eyes locked with her, and danced like it was only for her. Soft, minimal, full of meaning. Ending by going down on one knee and twirling her like they were already married.

Crowd: “Ooooooooooo!!”

---

Afterparty + Rooftop Ending

The family danced together, DJ in full swing. Gunjan and Raj snuck away to the rooftop.

Raj (holding her hand):
"Tomorrow is the wedding. Are you ready to become mine... forever?"

Gunjan (smiling with teary eyes):
"Raj Verma, I was yours even before you asked."

They hugged under the stars — yellow smeared hands, navy blue souls.
