The Hero Commission didn't let it go.

The interview didn't silence them.
The gossip didn't fade.
And the new wave of applicants — the next generation — were watching everything.

You and Aizawa had become a symbol.

And they hated that.

You were called to a disciplinary tribunal.

Not over misconduct.

Over influence.

"Your relationship may compromise the emotional integrity of Hero Program traditions."

"You've created an unstable example for future mentorship."

"Your continued presence together could be a long-term liability to hero infrastructure."

They didn't threaten you directly.

They didn't need to.

They were forcing a choice.

Aizawa didn't speak during the meeting.

Not until the very end.

Then he stood up, took your hand in front of the entire board, and said:

"I've risked my life for this system. For this school. For this future.

But if you think I'll let the woman I love be erased for your convenience—

You don't deserve me."

He dropped his resignation letter on the table.

Blank.

Signed at the bottom.

And said, "You want one of us gone? Pick."

Then walked out, still holding your hand.
