The breaking point came when Yaoyorozu cornered you in the locker room.

"We're not blind, Y/N," she said, calm and soft-spoken as ever. "You think no one notices, but we do."

You blinked. "What?"

"The way you look at him. The way he looks at you. You're not hiding it as well as you think."

You looked down.

She didn't sound cruel. Just... disappointed.

"I'm not judging," she added. "But you're risking everything. Your future. His future."

You whispered, "I love him."

That made her pause.

Then: "Then you should stop pretending you don't. Because if someone finds out for real... it won't just be your heart that breaks."

You told Aizawa that night.

That someone knew.

That it was spreading.

He sighed and sat down hard on the bed, eyes hollow. "Then it's almost over."

"No."

He looked up.

"It's almost starting."

You crossed to him, climbed into his lap, and held his face in your hands.

"I'm not ashamed of you," you whispered. "I'm not going to pretend this didn't happen. I won't lie. Not anymore."

He kissed your palms.

Slow.

Sad.

Then: "They'll tear me apart."

"Then let me bleed with you."

You made love that night.

Not sex. Not angry or punishing.

Real.

Slow. Gentle. Lingering.

He kissed every scar. Every old wound. He whispered "I love you" like it was the last time he'd get to say it.

And when you came beneath him, trembling and crying, he held you close and kissed your tears away.

"I'll fight for us," he said.

And you believed him.

Even if the war was coming.
